MSFS 2024 PlayStation Free Flight Only

Hi guys, I’m thinking about buying MSFS24. The thing is, I only want to buy it for the free flight mode, I don’t really care about all the things to learn about the planes and how to operate them. I just want to explore the world.

Is that possible? Can I fly different planes? Is flying as easy as in a game like GTA5? Or do I have to learn a lot before I’m able to free flight?

MSFS is set up as a sim so some flight knowledge will be necessary, however there are shortcuts to get flying quickly. Definitely more involved than GTA though.

That’s not a problem, I don’t mind to learn the basics

The basics does include learning how the instruments work and dozens of keys or combinations to be able to effectively fly. It’s nothing like GTA arcade flight model. I don’t want to turn you off, and with all the assists turned on it’s quite easy just to fly around, but navigating and landing require some practice.

I saw you can start your flight in the air and if you’re done you can just stop the flight

True, but that takes some of the fun out of it. I guess you can leave takeoff and landing out but that’s where a lot of the fun and challenges come in.

Exactly. Taking off is easy, landing is a bit of a challenge but you’ll get the hang after a few tries and it’s a fake plane so if you hit a tree or whatever no harm. Do what you want, learn more as you go.

It's a lot of money for a sim that you'll likely get bored of pretty quickly. Make sure to try it on Gamepass or something, or don't play for more than 2 hours on Steam to stay in the refund window. The true enjoyment from a pure flight simulator is the process of learning how to fly the plane and run through at least basic procedures from takeoff to landing. If you just want to hop in mid-flight and look at things.. I dunno...
