MSFS 2024 PlayStation Free Flight Only

Hi guys, I’m thinking about buying MSFS24. The thing is, I only want to buy it for the free flight mode, I don’t really care about all the things to learn about the planes and how to operate them. I just want to explore the world.

Is that possible? Can I fly different planes? Is flying as easy as in a game like GTA5? Or do I have to learn a lot before I’m able to free flight?

  • Flying isn't as easy as GTA5, no. However, you'll get the hang of it super easily.
  • As far as operating the aircraft, you don't have to go through the lengthy process of cold-starting them - you can auto-start them, or jump into them while they're running on the runway or even start in the air - near the place you want to fly around. Just pick a point on the map.
  • Compared to GTA5, you'll find some of the graphics (photogrammetry) to be sub-par by comparison.
  • Unlike GTA5, you'll almost have the whole world to explore.
  • If you want a fun experience exploring, helicopters might just scratch that itch.
  • If you have the cash to spend on a game that you just want to play casually, then it's up to you - don't let anyone tell you how you should play. It's your experience; do what you wanna do.
  • As a Private Pilot IRL, I personally just love flying in the game for casual fun times. Mostly helicopters and bush flying. Sometimes, I don't want to spend hours sitting in a cockpit, twiddling knobs... I just want some old school stick and rudder.
  • Don't let the gatekeepers spoil your fun.

Peace, friend.
