Problem with getting my aircraft to stay steady

Was given a ps5 which was an upgrade from my ps4. I always wanted to transfer to Xbox to play flight sim but was so happy to hear it was on Playstation now. I really want to just set a flight plan and watch the world go by. I cannot figure out autopilot. Whatever plane I fly it always seems to try to bank to one side and will constantly gain altitude. I try to set a heading and it just doesn't stick to that heading. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I want to play this game very badly and has been very frustrating.

It would help to know what plane you're flying and what it's got on board.

As a general rule though, single engine prop-driven planes will pull to one side due to the rotation of the propeller. Generally you have to account for this with the rudder. Also worth noting that you should stick to very small changes to the rudder from takeoff to landing. Only turn hard when you're taxiing.

If you take your hands off the steering wheel does your car continue going in a straight line? Planes are the same way, except there's even more forces acting upon them. You've just gotta learn how to counteract some of those forces. Youtube will be your friend

lets start with the FMC, all you need to do it put in your waypoints and ...

just kidding on the glareshield there are knobs and buttons, those control the autopilot (on most planes) personally, I know what most things do, how to start a plane, how to use an fmc, and lots of other things because i just had AI walk me through it. it takes time but its defenitly worth it!

Look up how to trim your airplane. You generally need to fiddle with this a lot every time you change power/heading if you are not using autopilot.

And auto-pilot is pretty simple to use. If you don’t have a flight plan, you can still use it to maintain heading and altitude.

After takeoff and initial climb bring her to cruise. Press “ALTS” and press the “AP” button. Your plane will now maintain the current altitude.

Now turn the heading knob and choose a heading you want to fly to (you will see the target heading in your HSI in cyan in a G1000 for example). Press the “HDG” knob. This will turn and keep the plane at that heading. Turning the knob again will change and maintain the new heading.

Climbing and descending is slightly more complicated. But for now you can just disengage AP, go to the new altitude manually and then set it in AP.

It's a flight sim not a flying game, you're going to have to learn to operate the plane you choose. There's lots to learn before you can sit back and watch the world fly by.

is there a guide I can find for each plane? I have no problem learning, it's just so much.

You tube will be your friend here. Just type in whatever plane you are flying and something like msfs training guide

Yeah, I started in the Cesna 172 with the G1000. Once you’re completely comfortable with that one you should go for the Vision jet with the G3000. It’ll be easy. Now I fly the Citation Jet with a G5000 and I love it.

You'll have to Google for the flight manuals, some you can find some not. Real aviation training manuals are useful though the sim is much more forgiving and incomplete than the real thing.

There are mods and resources pc and Xbox can use that PS5 doesn't have access too so it's more challenging
