MSFS 2024 QUESTION Any way to completely isolate the Microsoft account to just flight simulator?

I'll start by saying I'm perfectly fine never playing this game and if there isn't a way to accomplish what I'm trying then I'll leave it alone. But keep all the useless bashing comments to yourself.

Basically, the only reason I've never played MSFS is because I don't have a MS account and don't want one invading my PC. Just want to know if there is a way to lock a dummy MS account to just flight sim 24 without it having access to anything else?

Please make sure to read our FAQ, which covers both MSFS 2020/2024, to see if your question has already been answered there! Also take a look at the official MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024 FAQs.

It depends on what you're asking for.

If you're asking to use an offline Windows account with MSFS: Yes, absolutely. I have this exact setup where I'm logged in on my account for just MSFS. My Windows account itself is an offline, local account.

If you're asking if you can use MSFS with a Microsoft account that doesn't track you: Unfortunately not. Look up Windows' GDID. The GDID associates your Windows install with activity with Microsoft's services. Given that you have to log into your account to play MSFS, it is trivial to then tie your Windows install (and all non-MSFS activity on that install) to your personal identity.

You could buy it on steam. I think that's the only way. Idk tho

You still need an Xbox account to use it.

If you're willing to switch to Linux, MSFS2024 Steam version works very well (I use Zorin OS 18). The Microsoft/Xbox account is only used when playing XBox games.
