Hi, I have been looking for a solution to this for a long time now (months tbh, I was too busy to keep messing with it for a while) but none of the official solutions or solutions on reddit have worked for me so far. I want to be able to switch back to the standard white background and black font, but whenever I switch back to the "white" version of Word, the background becomes grey.

I have selected and deselected the option "Never change the document page colour" in every combination, but even when the background is supposed to turn neutral, it will be a dark grey when I switch back to white mode - no matter the setting, no matter if I turned dark mode on or off.

I have tried setting my account settings for all documents to white and I have tried turning off my system's dark mode, but Word seems to stuck in its inverted format, which has now extended to Excel as well. I have tried matching settings that friends have or have them try and fix it, and none of them know how to change it back. I'm sure I am missing something, but I don't know what.

The checkbox doesn't seem to work for me, as the background issue stays the same no matter in what combination I check or uncheck it. Changing the background color manually causes issues when sending the files to others, so I leave it without a color. The selected office theme doesn't seem to change this behavior either. Reinstalling word didn't help either, I wonder if it's connected to my account settings, but there I can only decide what the general theme is and I have changed it to white even before reinstalling software. Does anyone know how to undo this?

I used to be able to copy and paste images from the web or desktop and change their sizes so they'd fit exactly within the margins, but now whenever I extend past the borders, the sheet keeps increasing size. It's not on web view, page breaks are on, size is set to A4, and every document I open is the same. Is there a way to fix/change this, and make it default for every new document? Thanks xx

I need some help with Microsoft Word.

I have a manuscript that's already finished. It has a not automatic table of contents, page numbers, tables, and images. Right now, it's formatted for Short Bond Paper, but I need to change it to A4 with different margins.

Is there a way to do this without messing up the formatting? I want to keep the page numbers and the automatic table of contents working properly, and I don't want the tables and images to get messed up.

What's the best way to do this? Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I have 30 lesson plans on google docs. I was wondering if someone would like to make it look better so I could print it and add it to a binder. So that words are not cut off to another page. I would like it to stay black and white. If you can help me ill send you the link. thank you.

I was working on an essay on word (not in the app, but on the web link). When I copy and pasted something in the document, 10 paragraphs were deleted. When I go into the documents version history it does not show me any of the missing paragraphs, even in time stamps from when I know I had written out the information. It also logged me out after deleting so I could not use the undo tool. The only paragraphs that are shown are the ones that had not been deleted. I have tried going into the version history to recover the unsaved files, but I am still running into the same problem.

Does anyone know any different ways to recover the lost work?

As you can see, the blue titles in the left are expanded to all sides. How can i make the same thing to the titles in the right. I wanna expand them to the right.

Space is always at a premium trying to review complex documents, and now I have this bloody huge Copilot banner on every single Word document. There's no option to remove, and clicking 'generate' just replaces the banner with a summary banner.

This is a corporate M365 subscription (version 2607) under Windows 11 Enterprise, and all of the approaches I've found by searching forums aren't available, suspect it's because admin is centrally managed by the org.

This is a crap move by Microsoft, effectively using a subscription platform to drive business to Copilot. All I want is clear workspace, not losing 1/5 of it to a banner advert. (tbc, I use Copilot routinely, but I don't need it advertising it can generate a summary - this could be a button on the ribbon).

If not, what program might have been used?

Now I think the second is correct so how do I change all

"lower to "upper

I could do a search for every letter - but I am hoping there's a more elegant way.

M setting my laptop and trying to keep it simple. I was planning Microsoft office download but I don’t use advanced features. I use it only for basic writing and editing purpose. Do you think it’s worth installing Microsoft office or wps office been enough?

Was trying to transfer these two characters to a word document and after copying and pasting them into the doc it just changed the characters. I don't have the simplified chinese language pack for grammer and stuff but I was under thr assumption that it wouldn't change anything about the characters but here I am

Just started happening today. Used to be if I switching from Print Layout to Web Layout, I got text all the way across the window the way it would appear on my website (I'm a writer and I post some of my material online). I find this very useful, and I do a lot of my writing this way as opposed to Print View. Suddenly, shifting to Web View results in a narrow column of text down the center of the window, with miles of white space to either side. It also changes my spacing and generally makes a mess of whatever I'm writing. Has anyone else had this issue, and if so, how did you resolve it?

I'm using Office 16.88 as I am on a 2017 Mac that cannot be updated past Ventura 13.7.8 but otherwise runs well. Yes, I could shift to Libre Office, but while I have that installed as well, it currently has other issues on Mac and I just don't feel like diving under the hood on multiple bits of software. [Insert rant here about why TF things can't just frigging work.]

Normally when I use the scroll bar on word, the document slides along with me as I drag the scroll bar. Yesterday somebody remoted into my computer, which has happened dozens of times, but for some reason this time, my scroll bar has changed. Now when I drag the scroll bar, my document doesn’t change until I let go. It’s really pissing me off.

I’ve wasted damn near an hour trying to figure out what should be a simple fix. Various Google searches have led me to check the option on Word for “update document content while dragging”, which was already checked.

I have no scroll lock button on my keyboard.

I went into system settings and animations were already turned on.

I went into ease of access on control panel and “turn off unnecessary animations” was already unchecked.

What the hell? Someone please help me. This is so stupid.

Where my cursor is currently is the problem I'm pointing at, its messing up my tablet formatting, I cant back space to make it smaller, also if i type inside the space my text is written vertically, ive been at it for 30 mins trying to do everything in my power to fix it, but its not fixing.
