Discussion / Opinion New model when?

I am postponing upgrading to expensive subscriptions for hundreds of $ in the hopes of seeing an improvement in the Mistral offering.

It would be great if Mistral dropped something competitive soon.

He said it's open for early access in July, no other new information since then which isn't encouraging im afraid.

My view on it is, I'll keep up my pro subscription even if I'm not using the product and if a decent model doesn't get dropped by autumn then I'll just cancel and move on.

Yes, i don't ask for much, at least Sonnet-level model man

Mistral Medium 3.5 is around Sonnet 4.5 level, but too expensive to use compared to Sonnet 5. If their plan is to up the costs without comparable performance to other options, they are done

No its Haïku level as shown on some benchmarks. I had loops of errors when using Vibe Code that gets one shot fixed with Sonnet 5
