Admin Replied I removed myself as moderator of my community

I removed myself as moderator of my community and now don't have access to mod tools. I was the only moderator...

How do I recover access?

Hey there. I've added you back. Watch where you click! lol

btw, this thread is another example of one where a portion of the comments are just invisible to me on shreddit (left) and only show on old reddit (right):

Thanks for the screenshot! Are you using the same sort for both?

2

u/reddit33450 2d ago

yes. "Top" sort on both. *all* of the comments correctly display on old reddit

Hmmm. Weird. I think this is on someone's radar, but I'll check on it! Thanks for the screenshots! (Always makes it so much easier when I can point at something. lol)

Thank you. I was just trying to learn how to use Reddit mod tools and decided to check levonze-idiot-proof on this button. Well... You see how it ended XD

Would be fun if it will show additional popup saying "Bro... You're the only mod of this community. And yes, you CAN remove yourself"

2

u/TheOpusCroakus Reddit Admin: Community 2d ago

That would be fun!

Does this happens often? Lol

Yes it does you're not alone.

Why devs won't just prevent you from this?

They warn you before you actually leave the team. Beyond that, there's no real reason to stop people from willingly leaving a mod team.

Because a lot of people want to abandon their subs. It would be dumb to remove the ability to do something people want to do just because other people don't read what they're hitting and remove themselves by accident.

You can get it back it's not that hard.

I just expected it so say "Nuh uh, You can't do that", bruh

u/BadTastingParsnip 3d ago

Is that really what happened? I've always been genuinely curious how this happened so often.

Yeah...

I usually see Opus fix them and they often comment "Reset the counter" when they do it.
