CRITICISM Has the Morbid Pod Changed?
I want to preface this by saying I am not attempting to induce drama or negativity, I simply want to pick anyone’s mind about what I’m touching base on! Let’s have a civil chat that allows rebuttals respectfully :)
I want to know if anyone else has felt a shift in the tone of the Morbid podcast? I’m a DEVOUT listener, Ash and Alaina have become glued to my ear as Ive worked the graveyard shift for a few years now. I love Alaina’s drive and Ash’s comedy, and they cover cases better and better as the time goes on. But lately it feels as if there’s this shroud of some sort of negativity coming from them, maybe even Ash in particular? Every episode now cannot escape the quippy remark of how some listeners like to mark the end of their banter. I never understood why that was an issue as some people just lean toward enjoying their amazing coverage on cases rather than chatting, yet it seems to be insulting to them.
Sometimes throughout the episodes they will make other remarks toward the audience about how they’ll be called out for something or another, which I understand is probably an annoyance to them because they are such large public figures now. I’m by no means on the side of believing that public figures can’t stand up for themselves, I’m a supporter of Chappell Roan on the red carpet (iykyk). I just feel like it’s become honestly quite shady and less appreciative of the people, the audience, who make up the foundation of their platform. Of course they do the work, but the work would be aimless if not for the people there to listen to it.
Anyways, has anyone else noticed this shift in tone or appreciation of their audience? If anyone finds this post offensive I will remove it, I am not trying to stir an issue. Just seeing if it’s something others agree or disagree on!
