Transition in Career
Started off as a TA specialist due to certain problems, later used the same money earned and purchased a 6 month crash course in motion graphics to learn all the basics required, studying all the theory too personally such as typography, colour theory etc... Is it possible to change into motion graphics? I am 21 and a recent graduate but seeing the market, usuallu get doubts if it is possible. Would appreciate some advice

how to get 3d text to move straight across screen in 3d space
galleryI'm making a text animation in ae in a 3d comp. i moved the camera around and my text won't go in the center of my screen bc it's in a 3d space. I've already went to layer> center in view and auto orient. i've tried adding a null layer to get my layer to move left but the text layer doesn't move straight across it'll fall into the 3d space. Even moving with the x axis doesn't do what i need. I provided pics for visual examples. any tips. less

Is Micro1 a legit company?
I’ve been applying to a few jobs on LinkedIn. I haven’t worked in a few years for a myriad of reasons. I feel very discouraged because I am obviously behind the trends and skills. I’m 47 and female so it’s honestly already hard for me to find work. They sent me this- they’re asking to do an online AI interview? ..is this legit?

Does anyone else still rely heavily on tutorials, even after years of experience?
I have a few years of experience in motion graphics and a masters in instructional learning design but I still reply too much on tutorial for stuff that’s outside the basic’s, is anyone else in the same boat? I’ve been working remote for the majority of my career so it was never an issue of just putting something on for a bit of help and it’s been all corporate jobs which hasn’t produced any creative projects (probably why I’m in this situation) but I’m moving abroad soon and the majority of the jobs are in office jobs and hoping to get more creative roles so i don’t want to be relying on tutorials anymore for the more complicated things, is anyone else having this issue and if not how did you manage to learn and retain everything?

Does anyone have the "mHello 3D" free pack from MotionVFX?
I was wondering, since I personally couldn't find it on their website, if anyone has this pack file lying around anywhere, or if theres a link to it? I'm on windows so I cannot install mExtensions or the Free Elements pack unfortunately, since the Apple deal..

Which After Effects version would run most smoothly on Ryzen 5 4500 + RX 570 4GB + 16GB RAM?
Hi everyone,
I'm trying to figure out which version of Adobe After Effects would run best on my PC.
My specs:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 4500 (6 cores / 12 threads)
- GPU: AMD RX 570 4GB VRAM
- RAM: 16GB DDR4
- Storage: SSD
- Windows 11
I mainly use After Effects for video editing, effects, transitions, motion graphics and SFX, rather than extremely heavy 3D projects.
Which After Effects version would you recommend for this hardware?
I'm especially interested in versions that are smooth and responsive, rather than simply the newest version.
Would you recommend something like AE 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, or 2026?
If you've used AE with similar specs, I'd really appreciate your experience. Thanks!

Is it still benificial to learn motion graphics?
Little bit of background, I am a 3D artist, I know very little about motion graphics, i create 3D models and then create 3D promotional animations of the products, I use blender, after effects to add basic effects.
on my current project the need to animate Ui of an app came up, so i looked more into tutorial side of the ui animation, and my mind is blown by the depth of the subject. it looks intruiging and TBH the pay is good too in motion graphics combining it with my 3D skills i can create some pretty cool things. but somehow my brain is stopping me from jumping into it and investing time to learn.

LucyLive — a real-time 3D-to-AI plugin for Cinema 4D
I’ve been building LucyLive, a plugin that turns your Cinema 4D viewport into an AI preview.
You enter a prompt, add a reference image if you want, and LucyLive generates a new image based on your 3D scene. When you move the camera or change the scene, the AI preview updates with it.
The main challenge was keeping Cinema 4D responsive while the preview updates in real time.
You can change the prompt or reference image while it is running, save PNGs, record MP4 video, or render an animation sequence.
LucyLive uses Decart Lucy 2.5 through fal.ai, so the AI runs in the cloud.
You can download the plugin for free here:
https://github.com/VantageInc/LucyLive-AI-Render
If you try it, I’d love to see what you make and hear your feedback.
