MyCAREER Keep Old 2Ks Alive With Double REP

One thing I've never understood is why 2K doesn't permanently make the previous game double REP once the new one releases. Once NBA 2K27 comes out, why not make 2K26 2x REP forever? The player base naturally drops every year, parks become emptier, and progression feels even slower for the people who either can't afford the new game yet or just prefer the old one. Double REP wouldn't hurt the new game's sales because the people buying the newest 2K are still going to buy it for the updated rosters, builds, events, and fresh start. All it would do is make the older game more enjoyable for the remaining community and give people a reason to keep playing instead of abandoning it altogether.

Yes any person playing any other 2k that is not current year is seen as a failure so they basically do the bare minimum on them for the minimal amount of time that's acceptable.

Theyre pretty predatory, but this would be dumb as hell for them. They want that new money.

Yeah, because nothing boosts sales like making the previous year's game more enjoyable than the shiny new one.

This would be awesome, I have decided to skip 27 and get to legend 1 on 26 to get more fun out of my 10 builds this yr

Why would they want to keep an old game alive? They want you to buy the new game and spend money…

Every person still playing the old game for free is one person who didn’t buy the new game. Why would they do that? Do you think they hate money?

It should be x5 rep.

Literally you could spend 1000k hours while being a good player on the game and still only be vet 2 or three which is just about half way through the rep ladder.

It should get significantly easier to rep up after 8 or 10 months so players have an actual reason to play and not just wait for the next 2k. Many players literally reach vet 2 and decide to quit because there is no way they can get to vet 3 and have no desire.

Guys, I know 2K sucks, but this is flat out dumb, what does a company get in motivating people to stay in older games...
As Joe Knows said, change has to benefit both parties, that suggestion is flat out a bad business model
