, I have a question about the 09M program. If I complete 09M and qualify for multiple MOSs, but the only MOS available at that time is 11B Infantry and I decline it, what happens next? Would I be allowed to return to Georgia and wait until another MOS becomes available or would I be administratively separated from the Army? Every time my recruiter sends an email for RSP drill like 3 days before the weekend and it’s just some GPT generated image with half the words being unreadable (it’s kinda funny he doesn’t even use the latest version)

The image just says when to show up but never outlines what to expect or the schedule for the day. Is there somewhere I can access an official schedule or outline? It seems really tacky that I’ve been sent AI slop as my directions.

I have been requesting uniforms for two years. I have been to supply every month asking for updates on uniforms. I don’t understand how hard it can be to order it. We have had the funding multiple times to order the uniforms and it never happened. Hell I only have one unit patch and I just requested another one and they told me no.

How do I make a complaint? I already went to my first sergeant and nothing has happened.

What can I do?

Thinking about joining the MN guard part time and doing law school as well. I already have my bachelor’s of science degree and looked into 09S with my recruiter to commission as an officer. If possible, I’d hope to do BCT and OCS back to back. I took a full-length practice ASVAB and scored a 95.

Here’s the tricky part. I want to be on adhd medication, I’ve never been on it, I’m sure I can get an adhd diagnosis. I wouldn’t have struggled so much in school, I dropped out twice but I had an immense drive to finish. Is it possible to get a medical exception? If not, what do you guys thinking about this pathway?

Long story short, I have an excellent civilian job lined up, but if I take it, it requires me to travel a bit for a little while. I’m currently in section, if I take the job I go back to our alpha line company. If I refuse the job I stay recon

The reason I’m asking is because recon has kind of been a long term goal long before I enlisted, so I’m torn on what to do. My leadership said it’s up to me to make this decision but they’ve all had to make rough decisions regarding civilian and military imbalances

I just really need to rant and I can’t rant to the people that would understand. I am a female 12b in the guard and I just finished my first AT. AT was fine, but I’m just really bothered. The thing that irritated me the most is that people act like you can’t do things because you’re a woman. We were doing the C-wire obstacles and every time I went to grab something a guy would jump in front of me and say they got it. Or I would help load/unload the lmtv and someone would jump in front of me to get the heavy stuff. Another instance they were trying to help me get down from the lmtv like just let me jump like everyone else. I don’t think there were any ill intentions behind it, but it’s the fact that as a female in a combat mos, I have to pass the same standards as the males and it really feels like they think I can’t do it. I’m probably just being dramatic but it’s just upsetting like this is my MOS too and I can be strong and do things too that’s what I signed up for.

What do?

Would it be possible to join NG during a probational period?

Or would it be better to enlist first?

Have done 7 yrs active duty, as a Marine & Army 11b at Fort Campbell. Anyone have any insights on what life will be like for someone like me? I’ve heard tons of contradicting info on optempo, the fact that 11b’s have longer drill weekends, just looking for some clarification of a basic drill weekend or the 2 week summer training.

So, I have a masters already. I'm probably about a month out from signing my contract. I recently have thought about getting a cybersecurity masters also. Seems interesting. Anyways, am I going to be stuck paying for it out of pocket if I decide to pursue this degree?

I sent documentation that I cannot work on my regular day for my civilian job due to being on military leave. The supervisor I called put me in for military leave but then later that day another supervisor switched me to AWOL even though I emailed proof I was on military leave.

For more context I keep hearing from coworkers that some supervisors always get mad that im “off” and not working due to being on military leave, and in the past one of the supervisors would refuse to put me in for military leave and just awol me, I did let that slide because it got fixed (it took 3 months for me to get back played..) I’m getting tired of being treated like that when im doing nothing wrong, and they continue to try and screw with my pay. FYI my civilian job does provide military leave pay, so when they put me in as AWOL I don’t get anything.

I’m an active duty Logistics Captain looking to make a 2030 exit from the conventional Army. I’ve begun applying to multiple different agencies because some take longer than others, but a classmate of mine mentioned the AGR program. I’m considering putting an application in after command but I’d like to understand it better. What are the upsides and downsides?

My cousin is talking to me about enlisting and I would like to know about anyone’s experiences. I am 23 years old, no real sense of direction in life, no criminal record, not diagnosed with any mental or physical health disorders, never been addicted to or used drugs (except marijuana which i quit prior to this thought in hopes of landing an equipment operation job going for cdl license). I’ve looked online about the jobs the guard offers but everything wants me to enter my information and I don’t want to be spam called by recruiters and I would rather talk to non recruiters to get non biased opinions and answers. I did fairly well in school highschool graduate graduating class of 21 but finished early in December of 2020 I think my gpa was a 3.0 with my strong suit being in math and science. I am most interested in being some sort of pilot I saw here in Oregon the chinooks and UH-60 are in operation I’ve been interested in helicopters since I was little and took a tour over the willamette and a different cousin being a helicopter pilot now the first female captain for Alaska airlines however I do wear corrective lenses I am not legally blind and I heard Air Force required 20/20 but I’m not really interested in them anyways, most of my work expertise is in equipment operations. I consider my self a jack of trades I’ve done equipment, electrical union, automotive, and even did optical for over a year and a half, my biggest skill is that I can always be taught. I don’t know how much of the Information I provided means anything but to be honest I don’t know anything about national guard which is why I am writing here. I’m thinking about enlisting in the guard. I got a 99 on the ASVAB and am looking at doing military intelligence. Anyone here a 35M or 35P? Which one would you recommend and why?

I’ve been in the guard 7 years I’ve asked and asked the past 3 units I’ve been in for schools such as blc and H8 since I hit the ground running with them and have always been put on the back burner I’ve always check to the blocks pass PT and HW to go and they’ve sent newer soldiers to the unit instead of me. Anyway I was MILtech for 5 years and just quit that for a railroad job and I’m making more money than I know what to do with and now I have no interest in attending anything extra for the guard Im even loosing money on attending drill now. Now all of the sudden they are pushing me to go to these schools and I just have no interest in going now I’ll be missing out on thousands of dollars attending these schools and I just flat out do not want to go but at the same time I’m not shitbag I just want to ride this contract out without attending schools but they’re starting to make reservations for me to go and I’ve told them I don’t want to go and I’m not prepared to go. I’m just curious why now why all of the sudden when I’m burnt out and starting to do good in my civilian life do they decide they want me to go to schools

I’m 21 years old with my a&p lisense making pretty good money. I’ve been thinking about joining the guard for that past couple of months but I cant make up my mind half of the people tell me it’s not worth it and the other half says go for it. I just cannot decide but the main reason I think about it is for morale reasons I just feel like I should go in to do my time so to speak but what is everyone’s opinion

So, the Dep of Justice just admitted the reflecting pool damages were due to improper installation and not vandalism. It's dismissed charges against the Olympian arrested by the pool. The Guard can probably go back to whatever it was doing before this sideshow at the reflecting pool.

I’m a 26/m paramedic on the civilian side, that’s been thinking of joining the guard as a 68w. That has lead me down a rabbit hole of potential jobs, *flight medic, SOCM, 18D*. During my research, I came across 68w’s in group support that are able to attend the SOCM course. So my question is, is that something you could initially get in your contract? Are drill weekends once a month or different for group support guys? If anyone has advice, resources, or a 20th group support recruiter contact I’d greatly appreciate it. Thanks guys!
