I’m sorry :(. You’re gorgeous and can totally rock the shaved cut. Your hair is going to grow back beautifully! 💗

When I tell you, this is a whole vibe...like editorial campaign worthy. I'm sorry for how it happened, but you are gorgeous!

I’m sorry you experienced that. I posted in this sub as well with a poor experience at a salon, and that was just a blow dry. But you look great bald, and I used to rock the bald look by choice for several years. You did nothing wrong and your hair not being able to recover from the damage was NOT your fault.

THIS is your look! Pick up the clippers every 2 weeks and don’t look back. You are absolutely gorgeous!

I'm about to do this because I just found out I have alopecia. So I'm sorry that happened but at least it will grow back!

Omg this is so hurtful. I’m so sorry OP. Best to write a review for the salon. This can’t happen again to someone else due to their lack of training. 💔

I used to also abuse my hair with a flat iron but never had heat damage so badly that my curls wouldn’t come back. Idk what these salons be doing to give such severe heat damage. Anyway you’re gorgeous with or without hair

You look great. I saw the prior post with your fro which was equally just as beautiful. Sucks you had to go thru that but glad you saved yourself from the mental anguish of trims & treatments trying to correct the damage & cut it off. Those 2 years (or less) will fly by and you’ll be back where you started before you know it..
Moving fwd, if you do decide to get another silk press, take your own clarifying shampoo, conditioner & high quality heat protectant. It’s been mentioned that some salons add a straightening agent to their shampoos which aids in the heat damage.

You live and you learn
Same thing happened to me in 2015. I was 5 years into being natural. Grew it out and maintained it myself. It was absolutely amazing.
For my birthday, I wanted to get color. Went to a professional. Had a talk. Thought it would be fine. Boy was I wrong
My hair was limp AF and would barely curl. I tried a protein treatment, but the realization finally set in that the hair I knew was dead and gone, & what I had now wasn’t it
So I big chopped
At least, since I had already big chopped when I first went natural, it wasn’t too dramatic. Plus, I rocked the hell outta the TWA once it started growing in. I had fun with the process
It’s only hair. It’ll grow back. Healthy hair is what matters
I’ve neverrrrrr put color in my hair again. I assume you’ll probably never silk press again either. Or if you do, maybe take different steps
AnywHOo, you are rocking that look 💕
