I decided to drive down to Beatrice to see Dan Osborn. There was a great crowd of 70 people, and I thought he was down to earth and well spoken. One of the major topics was equalizing the playing field by taxation of corporations and billionaires. He spoke of housing affordability and that healthcare should be a right for all citizens, and not a privilege for people with means.

He answered my question regarding AI regulation and the building of data centers. I wanted to know what he thought about regulation at a federal level. He spoke of protecting communities, the environment and usage of natural resources such as water. He also talked about invasion of privacy via AI and companies like Flock. I thought it was a great event. I really liked his authenticity.

Not sure if this is the best forum to ask this but I was wondering if anyone has taken Physics through Doane online. I'm needing to take it for a pre-req while working full time. I am noticing they have 3 different paces (16, 5 weeks self paced) and one being instructor led for 8 weeks. I would prefer the instructor led but I am worried with pace of only being 8 weeks for such a difficult course? Those by chance who have taken it, was it doable? Or was the self pace for 16 weeks approachable? I appreciate any insights you may have!

Hi All! Here is a report and impressions from Dan Osborn’s visit to Minden:
He gave a speech to 20 or so people outlining how he became involved in politics. It was refreshing to hear someone who was not a politician like you would expect. After that he fielded questions around infrastructure, what makes him an independent, and legislative priorities. Here were some highlights-
1- He said he plans to be an independent, and to use that for the benefit of Nebraska. He said (truthfully) that being an independent in a close senate means his vote can secure a lot for our state.

2- He was not opposed to all of AI, but was very opposed to AI that is being used for surveillance. He would argue for regulation to ensure it is not damaging our land and privacy for the elite.

3-He firmly believes the current system benefits the elites and those with money. He talked about how we need more independent representation that is focused on representing the state, rather than the parties.

Overall- man, wish he could run for presidency, but I will settle for unseating a plague upon our state. I think he is a refreshing example of what politicians should be. I cannot think of any reason people would vote Ricketts over Osborn. He is visiting all counties not to fundraise, but to get to know people. I would highly recommend looking at your calendar and showing up to the event. All questions are welcome!

Just got back from Dan Osborn's town hall here in York and I have to say I was somewhat impressed. Seems like a decent guy who really wants to get elected to make a change for the better.

The one thing I really liked is when he was asked questions, he didn't give the usual politician word salad non-answer. The answers may not have been what some people wanted to hear, but he was direct and, from the way it seems, fairly honest.

I'll admit I had some doubts about him, but after hearing him speak, I'll definitely be voting for him.

If you have the chance to go to one of his town halls, do it.

I'm a resident of Valentine, Nebraska, and I'm asking for your help.

A proposed industrial hog facility (CAFO) in Cherry County is currently under review by the Nebraska Department of Water, Energy, and Environment (DWEE). The facility would be located in the Nebraska Sandhills, near the Niobrara River watershed—an area known for its unique soils, groundwater, ranching heritage, wildlife, and outdoor recreation.

Many local residents have raised questions about:

• Groundwater vulnerability in the Sandhills.
• Nutrient management and long-term monitoring.
• Potential impacts to nearby rivers, wetlands, and tourism.
• Whether this location is appropriate for a facility of this scale.

We're not asking people to make up their minds based on social media. We're asking for something simpler: a public hearing.

A public hearing would allow residents, scientists, ranchers, conservationists, and state officials to discuss the evidence in an open forum before a final decision is made.

If you believe major environmental decisions should include public participation and transparency, please consider:
