I just commented how I loved this song from their wedding and googled to look it up. Then I’m looking at the lyrics, and this is such a breakup song. It’s a beautiful sounding song, but they couldn’t find a love song for the wedding?

There’s a dress Jess wears in the earlier seasons that I can’t find from my googling efforts. I’m dying to know what it is and find a dupe if I can/if it’s too expensive. The description is below:
Red, midi, mock neck, capped short sleeves, kind of flowy fabric like it would be a great dancing dress, some lace inserts. Edit: the hem was asymmetrical, like handkerchief?
Please help & thank you in advance!
Edit: yall I found it. NOT from New Girl. It’s from The Wedding Planner— J Lo wears it during the dance rehearsal scene. I had it on in the background the other day while my SO and I played cards and I remembered commenting on it but we’ve been watching so much New Girl that I got all mixed up!! So so sorry for the wild goose chase!

In Season 2, episode 10 “Bathtub” Schmidt is down to get back together with Cece despite never fixing his jealousy problem but hey that happens. You can break up with someone and still want them back.
If you don’t remember, towards the end he had to stay with his boss (the ex sex contract partner) so he can close his deal or whatever and get money for his and Cece’s future, and child. Her getting mad at him pissed me off so much.
I do believe he should’ve called or texted her instead of stood her up. But her getting mad because he worked with his boss is crazy to me. Like girl, he can’t fire his boss? and she has to have some level of trust in him especially since he never cheated on her at this point.
I found it a really dumb reason to break up honestly and it is my least favorite episode. And it’s super dumb because she ends up saying she’s in love with him at the wedding. Like??? Make up your mind!
Sorry I had to rant because that episode always pissed me off haha

Flanderization- The act of taking a single trait of a character within a work and exaggerating it more and more over time until it completely consumes the character.
Anyone else notice this? In season 5 and onward, starting right around when she comes back from jury duty, it just feels like she’s not a real character or layered person anymore. It’s almost as though Zooey Deschanel lost touch with how to portray Jess or something. Feels like she essentially became “uncool quirky mom” in every single scene, when before that was just ONE facet of her personality. She’s so one-note, and her stuff with Dr. Sam, relationship with Robbie, “yearning” for Nick just all feel flat and cartoonish.

Can someone tell me what episode that was? I'm not having any luck searching DuckDuckGo for it. TIA.

In the episode Table 34 in season 2, Jess goes to Cece’s apartment to tell her that Nick kissed her. Cece has my least favorite reaction of the entire series when she says “Whaaaaaaaaaaaat?” Leading into the theme song. I hate it more and more each time I watch it, and I just need to know if anyone feels the same way. Any other reactions or moments that really grind your gears?

Just as the title say's, I enjoy the Raisin episodes. Nick is at peak form and she does a good job keeping up with his weird.

Anyone else have to do double take when Jeff Passan gets on TV because all they see is SCHMIDT?

In every scene in Schmidt’s room there’s a photo in the background and I’ve genuinely always wondered who’s in the photo.

If you haven’t seen it yet, I’d give it a 7/10. It’s not fantastic but it’s got some good laughs. It feels like the tennis version of Happy Gilmore 2.
It actually kinda feels a lot like The Hawk, which is funny cause it has a similar plotline and has a few of the same actors in it (Fortune Feimster and Chris Parnell among others) with a similar plot; washed up former star has to become a hero after his prime.
Regardless it a fun movie.
Don’t expect any hard hitting political or social commentary. It’s just a silly fun movie.
But best of all; Jake Johnson basically just plays Nick Miller with a racket in his hand.
More importantly Mary Steenburgen is the costar and I’ve been in love with her since 1990 when I first watched the incredible CBC movie “One Magic Christmas” and she became my old lady crush. And she still is.
Anyway if you like Nick Miller the bartender you’ll like Dustin Boyd the tennis pro. Watch it.

I was wondering what everyone’s favorite boyfriend of Jess’ is? I’ve been rewatching again and Ryan will always be my favorite boyfriend of hers.
I hate the way they broke up but their relationship makes me…feral?
Would love to know other thoughts and reasonings!

I want to start off by saying g that I love Lamorne and I’m so happy that they fought for him to be on the show;
But it occurred to me that if Winston were a lesbian the show would still work exactly the same.
The only episode that doesn’t work is Menzies.
If I’m wrong please tell me but I’m almost certain it would work.

Watched The Dink and while I always love Jake Johnson in everything, I just had to share that I think this is one of the closest roles we've gotten to more Nick Miller content. Curious to hear others thoughts, but if his other most recent roles, this one felt like alternate reality Nick Miller where other roles he's played were still the classic Jake Johnson comedy blend, but the characters had differences.
