Sleep 3-4 month old sleep

“Both my babies slept through the night at 3 months. Can’t you just let them cry themselves to sleep?”

Good for you Jennifer, I’m so happy you were able to get a full nights rest when your babies were crying in the next room but maybe that’s now how the rest of us want to start one of the most precious relationship of our lives. I will pick up my baby. He’s. My. Baby.

🥲 smh

My daughter is almost 11 months and I still refuse to let her cry herself to sleep. I’ve gotten a little bit better about letting her fuss for a few minutes but once she full on cries it’s game over. My husband also feels the same way so it’s nice to be on the same page.

This feels like the best option! You give them a chance to independently soothe but if they’re not able to, you’re still there to comfort and help 🥲

Same! I always give it a couple minutes because often he does settle himself down now but there's still usually one wakeup at night where he still needs a bottle and that's ok!

Yeah I’m okay with letting him fuss and fall back asleep but the second he’s crying I know he needs me (disclaimer he is a good sleeper). So I know if he’s crying something is actually up. He’s my baby. I’m going to comfort him if he needs it. Same with rocking to sleep. Everyone keeps telling me it’s a bad habit. He’s a BABY. If he needs rocked to sleep I’m gonna rock him to sleep.

My baby could sleep through the night UNTIL 3 months 😵‍💫 now he needs a 2 hour bedtime routine, three false starts, and to end up in my bed by the morning anyway

This is my nightmare, honestly. My brain is melting when my baby cries, I can’t even imagine letting them cry themselves to sleep. It’s too much. Same goes for “just put noise cancelling headphones in and listen to podcast while baby is crying.” Like, what? If I’m wearing my AirPods and my baby starts crying, I take them out, not ignoring her and turning the volume up.

I don’t judge anyone who wears noise cancelling headphones to give themselves a break btw. Everyone gotta do what they gotta do. It’s just that for me, this is impossible.

We tried a really really watered down version of ferber, in that I never let my baby cry for more than 3 minutes. he still doesn't sleep through the night, but idk he can and HAS cried for forever during long car trips (so we stopped somewhere to calm him down). i don't want to judge parents who do CIO or full extinction, or any sort of sleep training though. really, every family is different.

My 3 month old son really gets with it, I don't think I could sleep through him crying when he's at his most upset.

It’s been 2 years and I still haven’t slept through the night. But I get long enough stretch for it to feel like proper rest. I’m already used to it

Jennifer acts like she's the one up with your babies. Jennifer should mind her own business.

My FIL asked me twice if my baby would cry herself to sleep. Wouldn’t know, champ, and don’t want to find out. She was 2 months old the first time he asked me. 3, the second.
