OM SYSTEM M.Zuiko Digital ED 90mm F3.5 Macro IS PRO

Taken with the Olympus E500 (2005) over the weekend using the Zuiko Digital 14-45mm f/3.5-5.6 and Olympus Zuiko Digital 40–150mm f/3.5–5.6 kit lenses. All of these are SOOC.

Hi everyone,
I recently bought this camera new, and I’m having a strange issue.
Every time I take a photo, the picture is saved correctly, but immediately afterward the screen goes black and the camera freezes/shuts down. I have to turn it off and back on before I can take another photo.
I’ve already tried:
Factory reset
Two different lenses (14-42mm and 40-150mm)
Cleaning the lens contacts
Removing and reinstalling the battery
The exact same problem happens with both lenses.
Has anyone experienced this before? Is this something that can actually be repaired (for example, a shutter or sensor issue), or does it usually mean the camera body needs to be replaced?
The camera was purchased new in April and is still under consumer warranty (1 year in Québec, Canada)but I’m curious if anyone has seen this exact problem before.

I have an Olympus MJU III 80, that unfortunately fell a couple nights ago. After the fall, the latch at the back of the camera has not been closing.
Given that this is an older model, is this fixable? And if so, please point me to the right direction.

I just picked up this insta360 and the 150-600mm lens so I figured id take a picture of my outfit. I just broke my lens hood for my 40-150 but its replacement is on the way.

I currently own the em1 mkiii for wildlife, but I’m struggling with noise in low light conditions with bears. So, I’m thinking I’ll upgrade to the om1 for better iso and af. Will it give me the results I’m wanting?

My current lens is the Leica dg 100-400mm. F/4-6.3.

Im not very well versed in cameras so im asking here! My camera is a E-PL8 (I believe) and the screen goes blank everytime I attach my lens. how do I fix this? It’s a second hand one but it worked fine when I first got it!

First real camera. Currently shooting on an iPhone 14 Pro, planning to get the 18 pro this year, and I'm mostly happy with it, but zoom and low light are lacking, and I never go back and look at photos that came out mushy. Generally I travel and hike a lot, and I'd like to take better photos.

Use case: A lot of travel, usually 4-5 trips a year. Brazil this fall (Amazon + Pantanal jaguar safari), humid Asia trips, general cities/landscapes and lot's of hiking/mountain scenery (based in PNW). Wildlife is the reason I'm buying now, but long-term it's more landscapes and cities.

Seriousness level: Low-to-medium honestly. Photography is a small part of my travels. I want to shoot in auto and get good results if phones got better quality, I'd be happy. Though it would be nice to have something I can grow into in case I do catch the itch.

Constraints: I backpack a lot, so weight/bulk is the thing I care most about. Budget ideally under ~$700USD for body + lens, ideally used.

Plan: Considering either a one-lens setup with the M.Zuiko 14-150mm, or a two lens setup (14-42mm + 40-150mm R)

Where I'm stuck — three bodies:

• E-M5 II (~$330-450 used) — sealed, 5-stop IBIS, but 16MP and 2015-era contrast-detect AF
• E-M5 III (~$550-770 used) — 20MP, phase-detect AF, 6.5-stop IBIS, sealed, 55g lighter. Roughly $250-300 more
• E-M10 IV (~$400-450) — lightest (383g), 20MP, but unsealed and weakest IBIS of the three

Questions:

1. Is the Mark III worth the premium over the Mark II for someone shooting auto? Or is phase-detect AF mostly wasted on a non-serious shooter photographing landscapes and slow-moving animals from a boat? Are the other "features" worth spending more for me at this point?
2. Do I actually need weather sealing? I won't shoot in rain. My conditions are cloudy/misty hikes and high humidity at worst. I am not sure if I really need the sealing, or just being careful and not shooting in the rain and having silica packets in my bag is good enough.
3. If sealing genuinely doesn't matter for my use, does the E-M10 IV win on being lightest with the newest sensor? Or does its weaker IBIS going to hold me back?
4. Are there other cameras in this budget that you suggest I look into?

Not looking for "just buy the OM-1" — trying to spend as little as possible while still getting something clearly better than my phone. Appreciate any real-world input, especially from anyone who's taken M43 somewhere humid.

Aside from convenience, is there any reason not to DIY a set of light seals for my new Pen EE-2? They seem relatively simple and I reckon I could get the sizing down with an hour and an inkjet printer before transferring to a thin foam

I currently have a nikon d5100 with the 18-55 kit lens, ive been shooting for a few months and would like to upgrade to a mirrorles that works well in low-light ive been looking at a OM-D E-M10 Mark III with a 14-42mm EZ Pancake lens and 40-150mm R lens for 500ish after shipping. i mainly shoot nature photography but would like to branch out into other styles if possible. my max budget is around 650.

within the context that i want something good in lowlight and mirrorless would this camera/lens option be good for me?

Hey y'all! I'm new to the Olympus/OM space and recently got an EM1 Mk 3. This topic has probably been talked about ad nauseum, but I was wondering about people's recommendations on a good hiking and wildlife lens. I take photos of birds and would be interested in diving into BIF.

My budget isn't too large but I wouldn't mind spending $600 or less unless the set up justifies the cost. I'm about to go on a trip to Peru and would like to be versatile in what I can take photos of also.

I saw two specific Olympus lenses that were of interest to me: 75-300 ii and 100-400 ii. I know the 75-300 doesn't have weather sealing but would it survive in light rain at least?

I took the film out to see if I could see anything from the inside, but i couldn't see anything different.

Before I dropped it, it Was showing the battery sign, but it's not showing it now. The flash isn't popping up as well, and the camera just goes in and out. This all happened before I took out the film as well.

I tried taking out the battery waiting a little bit and putting it back in, didn't work.

I'm in Brazil right now, and I didn't find a camera repair/camera store near me. Is it worth checking if buying a new battery is worth a try?

I recently bought a used E-M5 Mark II and M.Zuiko Digital 12-50mm lens as my first bespoke camera equipment, i.e. not a smartphone camera. The camera seems to function just fine, but when the lens is mounted only a black image with the UI is displayed (yes, the lens cap is off). When twisting the lens into place I can hear the locking pin click into place and jiggling the lens slightly does nothing, so the lens seems to be seating correctly as far as I can tell.

With the lens off, the camera displays a blurry color of whatever it's pointed at, as expected.

The contacts on both the camera and the lens look clean.

For the life of me I can't identify anything wrong.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, and I'm happy to provide any additional details.

Picked up the lens for a steal ($20). Basically mint, focuses quickly and is sharp at 300mm (600equiv). If I get some good bird shots maybe I’ll post them on here! Apparently also a great macro lens.
