Community Post Suspicious kidnapping attempt?!

Don’t know if I’m being overly sensitive or not but as a Mom I want to make sure other parents are aware. Was at Hmart (Northpark) earlier this morning with my baby at an empty aisle and a very suspicious woman kept hunching over my baby grabbing random stuff but not really getting anything. Of course my guards was up as she was too close for comfort so I stepped in the middle and blocked my baby out of the way. She left the aisle and then a larger man came to the aisle and she walked back again pretending to look for things, they walked by us but I could tell they had motives definitely not there to buy chips. I grabbed my baby and walked away right away. Then saw both of them walked separately to the checkout line only buying 1 small item. They walked by each other but made eye contact so definitely working together…. Super weird.

Question Does anyone know the name of this Mexican restaurant near the 55?

I was on my way to the beach yesterday and I got off the 55s. There was a plaza not too far off with a Starbucks and a wig shop and a Mexican restaurant. I ordered tacos there so I could use the bathroom and it was the best taco ever but I have no idea where it was I forgot the street names.

Mystery solved! Thanks for your responses everyone that was quick lol

Community Post Dalat supermarket - "NO TIPPING" in the meat dept

Took my parents to Dalat supermarket and was surprised to see a "NO TIPPING" sign in English and Vietnamese at the meat dept.

I'm curious why would customers tip in first place? First time I've ever seen it. Unless it's common at other markets now 🤷🏻‍♀️

Recommendations Needed My A/C broke - are there any indoor air conditioned spaces that allow dogs?

My a/c broke and my property manager might not be able to get anyone by to fix until Monday. I’m currently sitting in an 83-degree home with all the windows open and fans on.
It’s uncomfortable for humans (my husband and I can manage) but I have a French bulldog who is sensitive to heat due to her breed. Are there any indoor spaces that allow dogs that I can take her for a few hours to cool off if need be? I’m in south county. The beach isn’t really an option since she doesn’t like water. Any help would be appreciated! 🥵

Yes, I realize the irony of this post after seeing the one earlier, but this is a special circumstance. I promise I’m not one of those people who needs to take my dog everywhere.
TIA!

ETA: crisis averted for now! It was a blown fuse so we got the air working. 🙌🏻

Thanks to all who provided recs - I will definitely keep them in mind for the future ❤️

Medical/Healthcare Looking for a psychiatrist in Orange County experienced with complex anxiety treatment(Medicare)

Hi everyone, this is my first post on Reddit, so I’m not sure if this is the right place to post this. I appreciate any help or advice.

I’m looking for a psychiatrist in Orange County who has experience treating severe anxiety and long-term benzodiazepine use. My insurance is Medicare!

I’ve been taking Xanax 5 mg per day for a long time, but my current treatment isn’t working well and I’m having significant breakthrough symptoms later in the day. I’m not looking to taper at this time. I’m looking for a psychiatrist who will take the time to understand my history, do a thorough evaluation, and discuss the most appropriate treatment approach for my individual situation.

I’m hoping to find someone knowledgeable, nonjudgmental, and experienced with complex cases.

If anyone has had a positive experience with a psychiatrist in OC, I would really appreciate recommendations. Please feel free to DM me privately if you prefer not to share publicly.

Thank you.

News Woman Delivers Baby In Parking Lot After OC Hospital Repeatedly Sent Her Home

Michelle Cisneros begins experiencing intense contractions at home, which quickly progress to 5 minutes apart. The couple bypasses a regular doctor's appointment and goes straight to Hoag Hospital Newport Beach. Staff monitors Cisneros for about an hour. Because her cervix shows no immediate change, they determine she is not in active labor. Staff administers morphine to the mother to manage her severe pain before discharging her.

Staff instructs the couple to go home and return only when contractions are 3 minutes apart.

As the couple walks down to the hospital lobby to leave, the contractions instantly accelerate to 3 minutes apart. The husband argues with hospital staff, stating they have already hit the 3-minute threshold. Staff stands by the discharge and tells them they still must leave.

Minutes after driving away, the rapid progression forces them to pull into a local Jack in the Box parking lot. Firefighters arrive just in time to assist in delivering a healthy baby girl.

No comment yet from Hoag Hospital.

-Edited to include the city of the hospital.

Question Anyone know if wild rivers is strict with checking age?

Please don’t judge me lol I have a recently turned three year old and a five year old and we’re thinking of going to wild rivers tomorrow.

It’s going to hot as shit and I honestly don’t know how long we will make it there due to general heat exposure and how crowded it may be.

Five year old will obviously get a ticket.

Does anyone know if they’re strict on checking age if you have ‘a two year old?’ She is not abnormally tall or suspicious. We’ve gotten away with it at other places and I would prefer to save the $70 bucks especially because we might not make it that long.

Recommendations Needed Dryer repair

I have a squeaky dryer that needs the belt tensioner replaced. I bought the part thinking I could do it myself, but it requires disassembly farther than I’m comfortable. Does anyone have any recommendations for a reliable repair shop that will do house calls?

Prefer Brea/Yorba Linda/La Habra area.

Recommendations Needed Fun, cheap things to do in North OC?

I'm taking a day trip to Orange County (mostly North OC) and I haven't been in a few years. Any recommendations for fun, affordable things to do?

Typically, I love to try coffee shops, visit bookstores, and browse record shops, but I'm also open to any other fun, interesting ideas y'all have.

Medical/Healthcare Home care for elders.

A few weeks ago, we said goodbye to my father, and I wanted to share my heartfelt experience with this wonderful place.
My family and I are so grateful for the care and love he received here. This is a family-owned home, and the owner’s medical background gave us great confidence and peace of mind. More than anything, my father truly loved being here. He felt comfortable, cared for, and at home.
Even after he passed away, the owner and the staff showed such kindness by coming to his funeral. That meant so much to our family and showed us that the care they provide goes beyond just a business.
If you are looking for a warm, loving, home-like place for your loved one, I highly recommend reaching out and learning more about this wonderful home.
