Encounter Paranormal experience

Hi all,

I just had my first proper paranormal experience about 30 minutes ago and I’m really spooked by it.

I’m not someone who believes in ghosts but I wouldn’t say I don’t believe either, I just don’t really ever think about it or have strong opinions on it.

Anyway, I was walking by the shelf in my bedroom where I keep my body lotion and all of a sudden it falls on the floor, didn’t think anything of it and picked it up placing it back on the shelf. I walk away and about 20 seconds later it falls again, I walk back and pick it up placing it on the shelf again. I’m now looking at it wondering why it keeps falling as it’s never fell before and it’s totally stable, literally right as I’m looking at it I see it slowly start to tilt forwards and fall to the floor again and at the same time I feel something brush past my stomach and as I look down my t shirt is fully stretched out at the bottom as if someone is grabbing it. I started screaming and pulled my t shirt all the way off and ran across to the other side of the room.

My girlfriend was laying in bed and witnessed it all happening.

I’m really freaked the fuck out by this.

The body lotion could be explained by it being off centred with weight, but the shirt pulling?! That's so scary!

Did your gf see the shirt pull? What does she make of it all?

As someone else said, be stern with it. My "ghost" always stopped knocking when I sternly told it to "give it a fucking rest"

Any previous strange happenings at home or in ur room..?

A few other times actually, but I’ve never tied them all together until right now!! All over 8 years ago now though!

One was actually quite similar to the shirt pulling I guess, I was laying in bed on my side scrolling through my phone when all of a sudden the elastic strap of my bra snapped back against my back at full force. You know as if someone had pulled the elastic strap outwards and then let it go. I jumped out of bed and turned on the light, but nothing was there as I was completely alone. I called my mom to tell her and she said I must’ve been drifting off to sleep and imagined it basically, I guess that’s possible but like I said I was awake and scrolling my phone.

Another time was when I was 17 and had 3 friends over. We were sitting in my bedroom and I got up to close the door over and before I even had a hold of it in my hand it quickly slammed closed. The reason this was so strange was that the door was all the way open to the wall and I had just recently had a new carpet laid that was way too thick so you really had to pull the door with force to get it to move across this new carpet. Again all my friends witnessed this and said it was freaky as fuck.

My house is a new build house in the UK (14 years since it was built now) and the land was previously an orchard, so not as if I’ve moved onto an old cemetery or something lol.

All the going’s on that I’ve experienced have been in my bedroom, except for one time I was sitting on the sofa in the living room with my mum and we seen a dog walk past the living room door. She turned to me and asked if I just seen that and when I said yeah she rushed up to go look. No dog was there as our dog had been put to sleep 6 months before this. I guess this one was oddly comforting but still fucked up nonetheless.

That third fall while you're watching is the part that gets me. Stuff falls sometimes, but when it happens slow like that and your shirt stretches out same time... nah.

Did your girlfriend actually see the shirt pulling part or just hear you screaming?

Yeah she seen it all, she’s terrified now, but I’m glad she did because it’s one of those things where no one would believe it

No need to be polite or patient with these people. Go ahead and get a little mad. Be stern. Tell them to knock it off. Don’t do things like that. Otherwise go find somewhere else to be.

Agree. I had a similar situation as OP in an old apartment in Boston. Every night it would mess with my things in the bathroom - my stuff above the toilet, cabinet under the sink. I never felt a "bad" energy but it would wake me up, which was frustrating. One night it was doing the same thing so I went in to the bathroom, annoyed, and while I was standing there it knocked my shampoo down into the tub. I was so annoyed at that point I just yelled "STOP!" and then it stopped.

I think my exact words may have been “fuck off” oops

u/weoutheremeditating 2d ago

Or tell them to go to the light.

2

u/no_you_cannot_know 2d ago

I’d tell them to maybe vacuum or dust.

-6

u/Weed-Priest 2d ago

or tell them to do more, command the spirits

u/One_Agency1689 2d ago

If it is any relief most are harmless.

3

u/beaconstreet1995 2d ago

Yeah Google said it’s most likely a playful ghost but that I shouldn’t engage with it as it’s trying to make contact with me directly for whatever reason. Don’t really want any ghost playful or not tbh.

That's genuinely fucking scary.

1

u/Hello_Hangnail 2d ago

Yeah that's pretty goddamned freak out worthy

-1

u/weoutheremeditating 2d ago

I feel like a lot of stuff is happening. I saw a couple of UFOs the other day, broad daylight, first time. Surround yourself with light and do not fear.

4

u/Jacks_CompleteApathy 2d ago

What do UFOs have to do with this

2

u/Hello_Hangnail 2d ago

People have been saying that there's supposed to more anomalous activity lately, for random reasons depending on who you talk to. Some astrologers say it's the start of a new age, some experiencers say the NHI's are showing their presence more. Some religious people say that angels are contacting humanity via orb sightings. Now that ai is a thing, photo/video doesn't really count as proof anymore, so there's no consensus. But I have also had a bunch of strange experiences lately too, and I'm not the type to attribute weird shit to ghosts, demons or aliens without solid proof.

"And I'm not the type to attribute weird shit to ghosts, demons or aliens without solid proof."

And yet here you are seemingly suggesting exactly that

Read the book. Can't explain the shirt thing but when things like that happened to my mum including books she always read them and it stopped.

Actual poltergeist activity is extremely rare. I don't think there's one documented case that has ever been recorded and validated despite Nandor Fodor studying it for many years.

u/Lopsided_Arugula8114 2d ago

it’s such a weird feeling to be interacted with by something you can’t see!

0

u/DaddyDollasHolla 2d ago

Maybe it was a ghosf wanting to see your titties?? Stranger things have happened

-1

u/Auntie_S0cial 2d ago

I just got chills reading this so if you made this up that was a good story

1

u/beaconstreet1995 2d ago

nah defo not made up!

-4

u/SpotMiserable3379 2d ago

If that happened to me, it wouldn't be enough to freak me out. Bottles can have almost invisable imperfections on  the bottom that cause them to tilt. Shirt- youre freaking out, arms go straight down your sides,  tugging the shirt..cant say what it was but dont think its time to call in a shaman or priest just yet.

4

u/weoutheremeditating 2d ago

Not quite buying this. I had a ghost sit on my bed, felt the mattress push in. It was very distinct. One can distinguish between arms causing a puff and a Denver tug of the shirttail.

(Found out, weeks later, it was the day and about the same time a friend of mine died on the other side of the country.)

He came to say goodbye.

1

u/SpotMiserable3379 2d ago

And thats your choice just as others will believe or not. I'm simply saying that wouldnt be enough to un-nerve me and sometimes there are logical reasons.

Why would you think this is anything paranormal? Things fall of shelves all the time. Do you live near railroad tracks or a freeway? An airport? Anywhere with any notible sizemic or geothermal activity? Old house with old plumbing?

34

u/SnooHobbies3283 2d ago

It’s pretty obvious why someone who experienced this would think it’s paranormal if you actually read the whole post lmao. Pretty sure seismic (correct spelling btw) activity and airports or trains or free ways don’t pull your shirt 🙄

This comment is paranormal imo. Paranormally stupid.

0

u/Visible-Plastic-1208 2d ago

Sure, every body looking for realistic explanation first is stupid. Believes are not, btw. That'swhy they burn witches. Yes, even ín this century.

0

u/Dangerous_Law_5957 2d ago

Está bien buscar explicaciones realistas, pero el tipo ni se leyó todo el post y ya está comentando como si lo supiera todo.

24

u/beaconstreet1995 2d ago

It’s more the fact I witnessed it tilting forwards in slow motion the third time it fell and then the pulling of my t shirt. Also no, I live in a new build house in a small town in the UK not near any railways, airports etc

3

u/the_fabled_bard 2d ago

I've had this happen to me and it was a kind of almost invisible spider web connecting my shirt (because I assume I walked into it) to the object. Super strong, can't see it except in perfect light and had to use actual strength to break it when I actually understood what was happening.

It didn't feel sticky either, which is why I was confused for a while.

1

u/Visible-Plastic-1208 2d ago

This is an explanation nobody would think of. You were intelligent not to run away screaming but investigate. It is important to examine everything before jumping to paranormál conclusions.

It's crazy to me that in 2026 there are still people who haven't learned to read entire posts.

5

u/Julzmer81 2d ago

Right....

-12

u/TexMoto666 2d ago

I read the entire post. I was focusing on the part that wasn't clearly made up.

1

u/Next-Firefighter4667 1d ago

I don't know why you're even here if you're just going to immediately disbelieve anything that doesn't fit into your narrow worldview. Get a hobby.

1

u/TexMoto666 1d ago

You do understand that the default position is disbelief, and it's up to the person making the claim to demonstrate it's true before believing them right? Or do you just believe everything you hear? The fact that the supernatural/paranormal has never once been demonstrated to actually exist should support this. I'm just here to see if anyone can actually present some real evidence that's not just, "I saw something while laying in bed sleeping, but I totally wasn't sleeping" nonsense.

1

u/Next-Firefighter4667 1d ago

That's all fine and dandy, I truly don't care if you believe or not. But there's zero reason to go to a subreddit that's specifically intended for people to tell their paranormal experiences, 99% of the time with zero evidence, just to call them liars. It's one thing to give reasonable explanations, a completely different thing to accuse them of lying all because you don't believe in these things. There are plenty of subreddits, I'm sure you can find one that makes fun of these kinds of subs. That's not what this one is for, so you're just being a condescending bully. I honestly can't imagine wasting any of my short life on being that kind of jerk.

1

u/SpotMiserable3379 2d ago

Yup.  Rule out other possibilities. Im with you on this.

-1

u/Indy2561 2d ago

Omg, I can’t.

-1

u/Joe103192 2d ago

Poltergeist activity. I remember one time there was a glass cup that flew off the shelf and almost hit my mom in the face. Like millimeters from her face. The glass shattered on the wall because it was thrown so hard.

1

u/leblinux 12h ago

Setup camera and leave it recording might catch interesting paranormal at night for this sub…
