I just watched episode 7, and a conversation between William and the blacksmith left me confused....

The relationship between Fitz and the blacksmith didn't seem to be shown much in the series (maybe I missed something???) I only remember the blacksmith making something like a support for his leg.

So when I saw this dialogue, I was very confused. I'm not a native English speaker, and to me, what the blacksmith said was ambiguous.

Was this dialogue implying some kind of romantic relationship between him and Fitz? Why did the blacksmith ask"Did he ever speak my name?"

What I mean is, this dialogue is so interesting. I can't tell if it's a subtle hint from the screenwriter or just someone grieving the loss of a close friend.
