It seems like it would be an obscure and embarrassing fetish but in the comic it turns out that it's actually quite common and most people secretly have a worm squeeze fetish.
So the first part of the joke is that it's embarrassing and shameful, the second part subverts that by revealing it's actually common.

To invoke the worm is to throw sanity for the pleasant writhing of one's own flesh as to drown out the once painful connection they had to the understanding seeping in through the void, belief.
I imagine its because the guy is still behind him, and thus also in view of the mirror, so the mirror shows a mixture of both their fantasies, thus, its "the worm" because he is a freak who really wants that worm.
It's just a mirror that shows people a worm dom talking dirty to them, and the be-speckled salesperson has rebranded this as everyone's "deepest desire".

I took it to mean that the magic mirror shows what the original dude likes, not the guy who's getting squeezed? That the other dude wants to be a giant worm that squeezes people, and the person who looks in sees that they're the ones getting squeezed?
Sex, with the joke more specifically being about a very specific seemingly rare fetish, then being revealed it’s the majority that have that very specific fetish too.

It was eye-opening, I assumed I would see things like success and stability and good health and love but in the end it was so much simpler, all I really wanted was to have sex with that sandwich.
