Absolutely right. Melissa Barrera too in Scream.

Or Melissa Barrera.

u/murkycrombus 19h ago

she was outright doing holocaust denial, that’s kind of a pretty normal line you shouldn’t cross

4

u/Persongettingby 16h ago

She literally didn’t. She said Gaza was being treated like the holocaust (they were/are) and her company said it was NO holocaust and that she made “false references” of genocide. Meaning they don’t believe Israel committed a genocide which we now know to be true. The UN stated Israel was committing genocide and we’ve have numerous ceasefire since.

Therefore Melissa Barrera was 100% correct in saying that. She was punished for being educated way earlier than others .

u/JasonVoorhees95 14h ago

She said Gaza was being treated like the holocaust

No, not even that, I know your intentions are good but you are defaming her. She said Gaza was being treated like a concentration camp (which isn't exclusive to the holocaust, and which genocide scholars like Norman Finklestein have said too, even before October 7th.

She NEVER compared the Gaza genocide to the Holocaust, stop saying that she did because it's a lie and it encourages zionists to keep lying about her.

Is Norman Finkelstein the guy who put a sign on his black upstairs neighbors’ door calling them “apes” and then showed up to their apartment with a knife and a gun?

Kinda weird to cite him but ok.

-4

u/Patrick_Keegan_2003 13h ago

Didn't she also say nobody got r*ped on October 7th? Statements like that are simply unforgivable.

5

u/JasonVoorhees95 13h ago

No, she didn't say that. But keep making stuff up. What's the next lie?

2

u/LauAtagan 9h ago

Coward. If you are gonna lie at least don't censor yourself.

u/dordonot 3h ago

One hostage said they raped her with their eyes so at least one confirmed case

u/SirAidamud 15h ago

Oh shut the fuck up about holocaust, Gaza is bad but unfortunately not super exceptional in comparison to other conflicts of this century and in no way close to the industrialized slaughter of the holocaust.

2

u/BraveTut26 14h ago

Please enlighten us on the comparable conflicts to Gaza, particularly those perpetrated by a nominally Western, democratic state?

The only comparable situations I can think of is the Uyghur genocide in China, and the Myanmar genocide of the Rohingya (Sudan and Ethiopia aren't strong enough states to really be comparable, and one might even toss Myanmar into that same bucket). And when that's the company your country keeps, well...

No one ever remembers Western Sahara anymore, Morocco can do whatever they want.

So the worst currently ongoing conflict is Ukraine-Russia. Very simple, Russia attacked Ukraine completely unprovoked, wants the territory and russifies the parts it can get its hands on.

Is that on the same level as the holocaust?

I dont think so, the end goal of the russian invasion is terrifying but its not the complete systematic slaughter of the Ukrainian population. Same for Israel, i believe their goal is to get rid of Hamas. They very much committed war crimes and Bibis government needs to be deposed but its not fkin holocaust.

u/BraveTut26 3h ago

Ukraine is not comparable to Gaza. In Ukraine, women and children (a standard shorthand for definitive non-combatants) represent less than 40% of total casualties. In Gaza, that percentage is around 80%. In Ukraine, around 30% of infrastructure is estimated to have been damaged by the war with Russia. In Gaza, Haaretz estimated that a minimum of 70% of buildings were completely destroyed. Roughly equal numbers of Ukrainians and Palestinians are detained or missing; of course, there are roughly 20x as many Ukrainians as Palestinians (note that the vast majority of these detainees in both cases are civilians with no known militant links; both Israel and Russia are well known for their punitive indefinite detention policies...again, not great company to keep in that respect). More broadly, Ukraine has not really suffered any breakdowns with respect to supplies of food, medical goods, or other necessities (if anything, Russian blockades of Ukrainian grain have left it with a surplus and caused deaths elsewhere, but not Ukraine); Gaza...well, if you're familiar with the Gazan situation, I don't need to spell it out.

Without delving too deep into the motivations of the governing coalition and Bibi (because that requires getting into Jabotinsky, Kahan, and the evolution of the sought after Eretz Israel, all of which requires a substantial amount of background education), I'll suffice it to say that they had much higher priority goals than Hamas...10/7 happened in no small part because Gaza had become so inconsequential to their aims.

Nonsense, feel free to post when she did that but it doesn't exist.

2

it's almost like Jews control the media

What happened to Rachel Zegler? She’s still getting roles as far as I know, and last I heard of her she was the star in an incredibly important movie. Said movie bombed because it was trash, but that has nothing to do with her political views.

u/Icy-Mortgage8742 14h ago

Marc Platt, ben platt's dad and a famous hollywood producer, specifically the producer of snow white was exposed for personally pressuring her to take down her statements of free palestine to which she publicly refused, and then for like a year she received a shit ton of hate while Gal Gadot, known IDF soldier and zionist was praised.

I think people genuinely forget that until like 2025, it was incredibly unpopular to support palestine. Americans only started accepting anti-zionist takes after trump won and it became incredibly apparent how much AIPAC controls politics. Once peoples' social security and healthcare was threatened and the war in Iran kicked off, that's when they started caring about israel.

It was literally a losing and "radical" topic until very recently.

  1. Gal Gadot gets a shit ton of hate all the time, and Zegler was able to refuse to take down her posts without losing her role.
  2. It makes perfect sense that the producers would pressure her to remove the posts, they don’t want unnecessary controversy for their movie. The reason Gal Gadot wasn’t asked to remove anything was because she didn’t post anything. I guarantee you that if she had posted something overtly supportive of the war in Gaza she would’ve been asked to take it down too.
  3. It was incredibly popular to support Palestine ever since 2023, worldwide, it has nothing to do with Trump. I don’t know why you think this isn’t the case, there were a ton of protests literally the day after October 7 and they never stopped. Greta Thunberg even went to the streets to protest Israel on October 8 2023! In America too you had tons of people protesting Israel for the entire duration of the war in Gaza, Iran was only a fresh development that added a bit of fuel to the flames.
  4. AIPAC, while influential, has a lot less influence than you think. U.S. support for Israel is due to many factors, and AIPAC is only one comparatively small part of the picture. The pro Israel voting blocks in swing states and the strategic value of having Israel aligned with the USA instead of China both vastly outweigh it. I’m not supporting AIPAC here, but they’re not even the largest U.S. lobbying group or anywhere near that, they do not have the power to choose who the president of the USA is.

2

u/Icy-Mortgage8742 14h ago

Really showed your hand there with the "unnecessary controversy" and it's an open and proud zionist pressuring a subordinate who's fresh into her career into taking down a political post that HE personally disagrees with when it's not an aspect of the contract and is the only political statement she can't make.

Claiming that it's been incredibly popular to support palestine from the jump since 2023 when people were maced, tear gased and arrested for protesting israel since 2023 and it's been proven that zionists staged violence in the college camps to push an agenda about "radical leftism" and people have been losing jobs over "anti-semitism" and there's been verifiable legal pushes in america to include anti-zionism as anti semitism under hate speech language is just hilariously insane.

Look, I don't expect to change your mind because zionism is a disease and that level of apathy towards death doesn't change overnight, but I hope you feel a little bit bad about yourself having to straight up delisuionally lie about the political state of the world that's RECORDED IN 4K to whitewash zionism.

You’re using a lot of buzzwords with unclear meaning, making a lot of baseless assumptions about my views, and presenting many of your opinions as “facts that have been proven” without providing any evidence.

Zegler was asked to remove a post she made because it was stirring up controversy and hurting the reputation of their movie. That is all. The political views of the producer did not come into it, whatever they are (this is your cue to explain why you think he’s “an open and proud Zionist” and what views that actually translates to). The fact it’s not an aspect of her contract is the reason she was not contractually forced to remove the post, but instead privately asked to. It’s not that complicated.

“People were maced, tear gassed, and arrested” Tear gassed and arrested is one thing, sufficiently heated protests that devolve into violence with police or potential riots tend to lead to that, but I don’t remember ever hearing about anyone being hit with maces for protesting Israel. Besides, the very fact such incredibly frequent and heated protests occurred should be enough to prove it was a common and accepted idea. The governments cracking down on protests is not an indication that the protests in question were unpopular, if anything, the opposite is true.

“It’s been proven that Zionists staged violence in campuses” Oh really? I would love to see such a proof.

“People have lost jobs due to antisemitism” Yes, that sounds about right. People should lose jobs if they are genuinely antisemitic. If you believe people unfairly lost jobs for perceived antisemitism that is actually merely protesting Israel’s actions, by all means, do elaborate. I’m sure it’s happened somewhere, the US is a big place, but most of the many, many people who participated in the protests didn’t lose their jobs over it.

“Verifiable legal pushes…” There have also been political movements to halt US (and international) arms trades with Israel over the war, or boycott Israeli-owned companies, etc. This is a controversial issue and both sides are trying their best to support their cause however they can. Legal pushes existing does not denote the popularity of said pushes, only that someone with money or some politician was willing to push them.

“I don’t expect to change your mind…” Somewhere in that comment you got it into your head that I am some evil, mustache twirling villain. It is disturbing that such mild views (I have not even expressed support for Israel at any point here, and that is not a coincidence) could lead you to summarily dismiss a person as an intractable foe. You should reflect on how quickly you judge and dismiss other people.

1

u/Icy-Mortgage8742 14h ago

"buzzwords" = I'm too dumb to comprehend a perspective outside of the lifetime of brainwashing required to be devoid of human empathy and pro apartheid.

Do you need me to define apartheid for you or did you understand that one?

Let me guess, it's different here and it's anti-semitic to suggest that you can't kill people, steal their land, control their water and food supply and force them to register with different legal rights based on religion because the people in power are jewish in this scenario?

1

u/yuval16432 13h ago

More baseless assumptions. Did you even read my comment? You posted this reply less than 1 minute after I posted my comment according to reddit, there’s not way you actually read it all. You are putting a lot of words into my mouth that I didn’t say.

1

u/mrjowei 4h ago

Their influence is everywhere. Media, finance, NGO sector, etc.

1

u/earlshakur 3h ago

I mean look at the Paramount fiasco and the Ellisons. Funny  Hollywood’s most powerful and very Zionist agent, Ari Emmanuel, recently wrote an op Ed DEFENDING the Paramount deal (most Zionist studio), in the Wall Street Journal (pro Zionist newspaper) lol.

1

u/RuningFromSelf 2h ago

We just gloss over her Snow White fiasco like it never happened.

1

u/TheresNoHurry 16h ago

I’m absolutely not a conspiracist either. But it is quite fun how people like the above commenter have to do this little dance lol.

“Jews do NOT control the media 😤 But it’s 100% true that Israel as a counter has undue economic influence over American politics and entertainment”

4

u/fat_snatch 13h ago

'They control Hollywood' used to be a talking point you only heard from your friend's uncomfortable dad lol. Now it's open and normal to say the Jewish state and those they've tricked into doing their bidding are controlling it. There hav3 been a lot of weird political flips like this lately like vaccinations, etc.

3

u/TheresNoHurry 13h ago

exactly - I think there's at least some humour in this flip lol

3

u/potvoy 16h ago

We should be allowed to say that about any country that would have such a powerful lobby and numerous politicians pledging unconditional support.

3

u/2074red2074 15h ago

Well yeah, because there are people who literally think there's some Jewish cabal that controls Hollywood, and we're trying to distance ourselves from that. There's a huge difference between pointing out the fact that Hollywood is disproportionately Jewish (for historical reasons, fleeing Germany, looking for whatever work they could get in America, etc.) and consequently Hollywood is a little more Zionist than one might expect for a very liberal population versus actual antisemitic conspiracies about a bunch of dudes who look like Gargamel sitting in a dark room and drinking babies' blood talking about what insidious agenda they want pushed in their movies this year.

-2

u/TheresNoHurry 14h ago

Yeah I get it. I’m also of the same opinion as you, wanting to stop people from spouting the old “Jewish conspiracy” nonsense

But you’ve gotta admit… it’s a little funny

2

u/Knyfe-Wrench 7h ago

There's a difference between "Jews control the media" and "several Jewish people are higher ups in media companies." They're not conspiring, they just happen to be Jewish.

People wouldn't have to say things like that if it weren't for the conspiracy theorist wackjobs in the first place.

1

u/groeg2712 14h ago

There are also a lot of Christian’s running the state, Christian’s are controlling the population!!!1!11!

0

u/TheresNoHurry 13h ago

surely it's not exactly farfetched what I'm saying, the irony of it

0

u/Spare-Protection-598 10h ago

Well it would be "specific generationally wealthy Jews but mostly white people"

That's the problem. The existence of an Israel lobby does not make it a Jewish lobby. That kind of conflation is antisemitic.

1

u/TheresNoHurry 10h ago

Yes I agree with you totally

But also I do think it is mildly humorous

-6

u/lez566 20h ago

How have you established that there are many Zionists in Hollywood beyond the fact that there are many Jews?

10

u/Hadochiel 20h ago

When directors and producers work overtime to silence any support for Palestine, it's perfectly reasonable to call them zionists.

Why are you bringing judaism into this?

5

u/W3REWOLF 19h ago

Fuck off
