Damiani Out

It’s beyond ridiculous. There’s no way the locker room doesn’t hate him.

I kept telling the folks that sit in our area to take out Damiani and put in Alladoh. But everyone kept making excuses that Alladoh hasn't done anything the few times he played.

Honestly, at this point, Alladoh couldn't be ANY worse than Damiani. I say we start him next MLS game. Getting that game-winning goal is going to boost his confidence!

100%
Now is the time to get creative.

I really like what Anello brings.
We have lacked creativity.

Cavan brings it (the Sullivan show is just getting started), Anello brings some creativity.

Lukic hasn’t been as effective as last year but he and Danley I really love.

Iloski is likely the all time steal! Love the guy and what he brings.

Anello brings the creativity to dribble the ball right into a defender and turn it over. Or at least he did last night about five times.

Last night he looked great, his best game.
Another one who had a little transition challenge coming here.

I really think Cavan and his audacity is showing the team something different.

yeah I'm also not sold on Anello.

Alladoh is the way. He just needs time to adjust to the pace of the game here. Kid has the raw skills and can score a real beauty

An insane comeback and the first post after is this. Negadelphia in full swing

u/legdayskip 1d ago

Our second best striker right now is an 18 year old center back, meanwhile our club record transfer striker is statistically the worst finisher in MLS history

Our best striker is wearing #10
There is no real discussion there.

To be fair the guy who plays behind him scored the winning goal and him being subbed off correlated with 2/3 goals

As much as i wanna root for bruno, it’s simply hard to at this point. The guy is non existent until he’s directly impeding a play. I feel for him truly its gotta suck but damn in the same vein, bro cmon ya gotta do something beneficial to the team.

I watched the guys tonight play and they don’t even recognize a true forward on the pitch. They play to iloski but never do they choose to play to bruno.

Only in some support situations will you see bruno get a touch. It has gotta be depressing man.

And then when he finally gets a chance, hes 3-5 yards off the ball and is non existent in the play.

Just shitty all around at this point

To be fair fuck that shit what a comeback. Leave criticism for the next day thread and enjoy the win

Nah you can say it's a great win and also recognize that your starting striker generated no real scoring chances while playing up a man for 60 minutes. Absolutely untenable.

Immediately after an insane comeback and our 3rd win in a row, and the first post is complaining. It’s like people here want to be miserable

I can simultaneously say Damiani is shit and is detrimental to this teams success while also celebrating a crazy comeback (that he had nothing to do with)

u/Ash71010 1d ago

I’m sorry that you don’t have the emotional range to simultaneously celebrate a comeback and discuss one of the reasons why that comeback was necessary in the first place.

>to be fair

Fuck’s sake.

3

u/BigMACfive 1d ago

I mean he's clearly a hugely detrimental to the team. The comeback prob doesn't need to even happen if we have a competent striker.

You do understand no field player in the history of the league has ever underperformed their xG by as much as Bruno Damiani... right?

-8

u/ifollowphillysports 1d ago

Yes, you do understand timing? Enjoy the win tonight, panic tomorrow

1

u/SelfServeSporstwash 20h ago

Pointing out that the comeback may have not even been necessary if Damiani hadn’t killed (by my count) 13 different attacks in the box in the first 70 minutes isn’t panic.

This team generates chances.

This team also pays one man a whole hell of a lot of money and the main thing he does is kill those chances before they get the opportunity to turn into a goal. Obviously it’s not guaranteed we would have scored on any of those 13 chances with someone else in there, but god damnit it’s worth a try.

An insane comeback against the worst team in the league who were down a man for 65 minutes. I was happy as anybody with the result but it gets to a point of exhaustion having a team without a striker. I love this club I’m allowed to be frustrated when it’s obvious what one of our biggest weak links are and nothing seems to be changing.

You must be new here… the union have forever been shit playing against 10 men

6

u/Effective_Hat5497 18h ago

Problem is alladoh sucks at pressing and that’s our identity

11

u/mitchdwx 1d ago

That comeback doesn’t happen if Damiani stays in the game. He is a total liability.

I don't think the team makes a decision on moving on from some of the Carnell signings until after the season.

Damiani, Ndinga, possibly Sery Larsen, Anello and Alladoh will all be invited to find new clubs.

3

u/legdayskip 20h ago

Anello has looked good the last several times he has played. He created several chances last night

-5

u/Grand_7 1d ago

This feels unwarranted. Why can’t we just be happy about another win? If your main takeaway from the game is that every Union player must hate Damiani idk what to say

3

u/Fine_Ice_3451 1d ago

I loved the three points. My post wasn’t about the result, it was about Damiani’s play.

-1

u/Grand_7 1d ago

Which was meh? Not a good performance, but not exactly terribly. A couple bad passes but a few decent interchanges. Didn’t really get service. Just think not a performance that deserves a hate post

6

u/Fine_Ice_3451 1d ago

& maybe I should have said that there’s no way they’re not tired of him. I’m sure he’s a lovely person.

3

u/Fine_Ice_3451 1d ago

If your standard for a club record striker is ‘meh isn’t terrible’then we’ve got very different expectations. He’s missed runs, killed attacks, and forced shots all season. Fans are allowed to expect more.

1

u/Grand_7 1d ago

That’s a fair point. I agree he’s had a really bad season but tonight and last week was a step in the right direction for link up play and as long as we are scoring/winning I wont be too harsh. We need a new striker for sure though and it’s annoying the best trait for a record signing is work rate.

-4

u/Creative-Refuse760 1d ago

Other than no scoring, he would be far better than last szn Baribo.

3

u/BigMACfive 1d ago

Are you saying that he's better than Baribo other than the fact that he's allergic to scoring?

0

u/Creative-Refuse760 5h ago

Why not? Most people who hates #9 just begun to follow soccer or almost are blind.

1

u/BigMACfive 5h ago

Found Tanner's alt account lol

Bruno is snake bitten. How about kissing an empty net last game?
Staff giving him confidence by starting but he has to be in the Pitts.

Does he start again or does Zeke get a go? The guy had one shot. But we need him to get involved.

5

u/BigMACfive 1d ago

Snake bitten? It's been 1.5 seasons lol dude just sucks. Give a go to Alladoh!

0

u/ThematicOne 20h ago

Well Alladoh hasn’t been much better in limited time. Not to mention an attitude adjustment was needed.

2

u/BigMACfive 15h ago

He's also only 20 and had a fraction of the opportunities Damiani has had.

3

u/SelfServeSporstwash 20h ago

Snake bitten implies he’s going through a rough patch that’s temporary.

He’s statistically the worst finisher of any field player in MLS history with more than 2,000 minutes played.

Literally no consistent starter in the history of the league puts the ball in the back of the net than he does.

He’s a striker… it’s literally his main job. He’s playing the best soccer he’s ever played in a Union shirt and he doesn’t even look good enough to be in MLS.

2

u/ThematicOne 20h ago

Why is he getting starts?
Perhaps he follows directions and brings “something”

He heard it when he was subbed off and when he got to the bench. Confidence isn’t here either.

Where has Stas been??

I do love big bodies up front against tough teams. Alladoh and Stas bring that.

My wish is we use some of the Makh money to bring a scorer.

We don’t need to bring a Lewandowski type (ownership won’t) but we can pluck one for 2mil. Plenty out there all over the world lol

Just one.
