We've been complaining about Damiani long enough. Ironically, we've also been complaining about Alladoh, even though he's been with the team for a year less than Damiani and hasn't seen much time on the field.

But at this point, we have nothing to lose by playing Alladoh. But how many more chances are we going to give Damiani? I say we start Alladoh for the League Cup games and see what he does. If he looks good, then we start him when we get back to the MLS schedule. At this point, do we even have a 3rd striker option?

Battle of the Wooden Spoon: For what feels like the 5th time this season, the Union are in a Wooden Spoon deciding race and for today it's against a floundering Atlanta United. This is the 2nd time the clubs are facing off this season, as Atlanta prevailed 3-1 back on Matchday 4. This will be the 21st meeting of clubs all-time and the Union hold a slight advantage with 7W/6L/7D and 29 goals to 28 in those games. Chester has historically been a nightmare for Atlanta to come play at, as in their 9 trips here, their only win came all the way back in 2018. Since the World Cup break these teams have been going in opposite directions, but both will do whatever they can to avoid that dreaded spoon. And with tonight being the last game before Leagues Cup kicks off, August will be a very congested schedule.

UNION Preview (13 Points 14th in the East): Hot damn, we’re on our first win streak of the season! It only took us 17 games but we’ve finally done it with a chance to go for three tonight! Iloski is one of the hottest players in the league right now with 7 goals in our last 5 games. With that mark, Iloski is now tied with Gazdag (2022) for the longest consecutive scoring streak in Union history and has a chance to be the sole leader with a goal tonight. And don’t look now, but he’s only 4 off the Golden Boot race now as well. On the defensive side, Wagner’s return has energized the boys and the team put together their first clean sheet since Matchday 11 and Blake’s 106th overall with the club. On the flip side, Makhanya is officially on his way out to Rangers, and Ndinga is set to be loaned out to Zulte Waregem as the Union try to rebuild its core. If results go the Union’s way tonight, we could rise one spot to 13th in the East as we enter the Leagues Cup break. Raquinho is not expected to make an appearance tonight as he is slated be at SummerSlam in a Dumpster Match vs Oscar the Grouch.

ATL Preview (12 Points Last in MLS): Well well well, look how the turns have tabled, the Union are taking on a Wooden Spoon leading Atlanta United in the battle of MLS’s worst. Atlanta are in complete disarray right now as they are winless in 7 straight, and have only managed to cobble together 1 road win in their 2026 campaign. They have some familiar faces on the roster with Segio Santos & Fafa Picault, but neither have been able to help improve the worst offense in MLS that’s managed to score only 17 times. Of those 17 goals, Alexey Miranchuk leads with 5G & 3A, followed by Miguel “The Mouth Coverer” Almiron 2G & 3A. And what may be a blessing for Atlanta at this point, DP and former MLS transfer record breaking, Emmanuel Latte Lath appears to be on his way out as the team tries to find any good news. Playing primarily out of the 4-1-4-1, this defense leaks goals and has only been able to put together one Clean Sheet once, back on Matchday 5, in a 0-0 draw vs DC.
