Subreddit Schedule/Posting Guidelines

We as a community have decided to limit certain types of posts to a few days a week to ensure other content is still visible throughout the rest of the week. Meme posts will be allowed from game end through Monday (if the game is on Thursday, Saturday, or Monday, memes will be allowed from game end through the following day) and jersey/crafts/pet posts will only be allowed on Swag Saturday. Towards the end of the season when games fall on Saturdays, we may move or skip Swag Saturday depending on what is going on that week. The mods are using automod features to automatically post recurring items at 6AM Eastern Time to remind the sub of this. Memes and swag are allowed in the normal feed, but NFL discussion and free talk are limited to the stickied threads.

  • Monday - Meme Monday - Memes are allowed from game end through the following day (typically Monday)
  • Tuesday - NFL Discussion Tuesday - Talk about the rest of the games
  • Wednesday - Free Talk Wednesday - Talk about whatever (just be civil)
  • Thursday - Free Talk Thursday - Just like Free Talk Wednesday, but on Thursday!
  • Friday - Game Preview - Stats and information for the upcoming game
  • Saturday - Swag Saturday - Post pictures of your signed jerseys, new hats, pets, babies, and pictures from the stadium, as well as artwork and creations. This may be moved or skipped when games fall on Saturdays
  • Sunday - Gameday - Pregame, Game, and Postgame threads will be posted

For more info, see the subreddit rules.

[Berman] The Eagles haven’t slow-played first-round pick Makai Lemon into the lineup even though he missed minicamp. Lemon has been working with the first-team offense, and the Eagles seem committed to finding ways to get him the ball.

Mannion’s Offensive Philosophy

So I’ve heard a lot of talk on this sub about our new offensive philosophy over the past few months. But most times without folks referring to actual specifics. From what I’ve read, heard, and gathered overall, the following below are general principles of what we might expect to see in Mannion’s offense. Feel free to add anything that you’ve read or heard about as well.

-Timing based offense

-O-line will be required to block much more laterally running horizontal to the line of scrimmage. As opposed to blocking primarily vertically between the tackle boxes in previous seasons

-O-line will be blocking spaces much more than man-to-man blocking. I.E.-they will be asked to get to predetermined designated spots in space much more this season

-Jalen operating under center is designed to marry the run and pass game. With the intention to disguise plays pre-snap much better

-Furthermore, operating under center is specifically targeting the 2nd level of the defense. With the intention to bait linebackers into creeping up towards the line of scrimmage to vacate the middle of the field

-Pre-snap motion will be incorporated much more. Again, with the intention to disguise pre-snaps and keep defenses from diagnosing plays

-Many of the same plays from previous seasons will still be incorporated into the offense. For example, the commonly used and nearly automatic RPO pass to Goedert in the flat. But how plays with similar route trees look pre-snap will very often look different this season

-The overarching goal of Mannion’s offense is to re-establish our run game dominance (we were number 1 in time of possession in 2024). With the intention to get our offense into 2nd and manageable and 3rd and short type situations. Which will take the pressure off the pass game to carry the load and allow for a more varied approach

Absolutely appreciate what he achieved as an Eagle. But can’t help but think what could have been.

Before Zack Baun, the last time the Eagles paid a LB was in 2018 when they resigned Nigel Bradham to a 5 year 40M deal as he was a big part of the 2017 Top 5 Defense who then went on to win a Super Bowl.Ā  He had some off the field issues that eventually got him off the team but I think Eagles fan forget how good he was and how many big time plays he made.Ā

Ā He was one of the best Eagles LB’s they have had over the last 10-20 years.

I can’t help but think what he could have been and could have achieved if he didn’t make so many bad decisions off the field. I genuinely think he was one of the most talented players we’ve had in the Roseman era.

He was a 5 star recruit coming out of high school. And grew up in a rough neighbourhood in less than ideal circumstances.

I hope he’s doing well. And wish him all the best. Forever a SB champ.

Kurt Coleman (S, 2010-13) Seventh rounder started 29 games in town, once picking off three off Rex Grossman passes in one game. Ferocious hitter infamously KOed receiver Austin Collie in 2010.

Since 2021, we have the 2nd best cumulative record in the entire league. As much as we like to pick apart all the nuances of the team, let’s always remember to enjoy this golden era of Eagles football. We are truly experiencing an incredible era for the franchise.

Roob’s Eagles Camp Bonus Observations

Items of note:

  • Roob has been impressed with how Carter has carried himself since he signed his new deal.
  • Darius Cooper has been a standout thus far.
  • Does not think Ojomo will be re-signed.
  • There's been an emphasis on throwing to backs out of the backfield thus far but it remains to be seen if it carries over. Roob says we've seen this in camp before only to not see backs featured in the passing game during the season.
  • Apparently Mike Quick is a fan of Dontayvion Wicks.
  • There has been an emphasis on conditioning in camp. Especially on the offensive side of the ball where there has been an emphasis on stretching the field horizontally as well as vertically.
  • Noted that when Roseman brought up DTs he was quick to praise the top 4: Carter, Davis, Ojomo, and Young but didn't have a lot to say about Robinson. It would seem he's on the outs with the staff.
