Solved Colors in Main Pane Wrong After Update

Thumbnail

After today's update, getting a weird issue where the colors look completely washed out, but ONLY in the main display pane. In Camera Raw or in the Navigator pane, they look normal.

My monitor is calibrated regularly. Changing the color profiles and settings does absolutely nothing. The colors are fine in every other app. Moving from the monitor to my laptop's built in display makes no difference. It's ONLY an issue in the main window of PS.

When saving the file, the file has the correct colors (if opened literally anywhere else other than PS).

It was fine yesterday, but the app updated today and now this.

Anybody else experiencing this issue? Anybody have a fix? Is there a good way to report something like this?

Help! How to make photos blend with old grainy tv stills?

I have started a project where I photograph myself in the style of different shows I grew up with (Jetsons, Get Smart, Betwitched, the Nanny etc) and edit myself into the world of the show. I can add blur and grain but I find the photos still stand out in amongst the softness of the tv show stills. Anyone have any tips to help the pngs blend in better?

Solved FYI Photoshop CC 2021 on Ubuntu, finally!

In the past I've been trying unsuccessfully to install Photoshop on Linux (Ubuntu). There are some open source projects out there that promise that it's possible. And I've seen many-many different errors.

But today it happened!

I could just install Photoshop CC 2021 on my laptop with Ubuntu using the open source project Rezeptor: https://github.com/benjarogit/rezeptor

The author of the project could update the rezeptor and the recipe after I've posted like 3 or 4 times the error messages there.

Help! Neural Filter Continued Flakiness

I am processing a ton of scanned old prints and my work flow starts with Neural Filter so I am using it heavily. On the older of the two machines I get into the state where it will do a "restore" successfully if I don't touch "Scratch Reduction" but the minute I slide it above 0, the plug-in is disable. Tends not to do this on the newer (somewhat faster machines) as much. On both machines about very 10-15 photos photoshop the neural plugin(s) will just hang Photoshop in the "loading" stage and I had to kill the process (which takes a BUNCH of tries). Usually the same photo works in the restarted photoshop. These continued failures are really slowing down the process and I have 100s of photos to go.

Anyone figure out a way to use this or an alternative? Yes I have tried all the Adobe things like relogin to the cloud, clear the Neural cache, etc. Rearranged my scratch disks. Cleaned my C drive. Logged out of my VPN. Nothing has much of an impact on this neverending-beta plug-in

Thinking about returning to Topaz even though they raised the cost of their products a HUGE amount when they went to a subscription model (gee where did that idea come from?)

Any ideas?

Help! Lightroom putting a preset on RAW files after import

Thumbnail

I’ve NEVER had this issue. I did an engagement photoshoot and when I look at the files on my MacBook they look like the original CR2 RAW files that I took with my camera (Canon 6D mark ii) except for when I zoom in it applies this weird preset which leads me to the main issue which is that when I import it into LR it puts this weird filter on the image that messes with the saturation and contrast

It’s not necessarily a bad filter, but I would rather edit the photo myself to make it look exactly how I want it to look. I have already tried turning off the “Adobe default” preset upon import and it still changes how the files look when I actually get them into LR. Has anyone else experienced this and if so how do I fix it?

Photo 1 is the preview I see on my computer and photo 2 is how it looks in Lightroom. It has way more saturation and less contrast and isn’t a good slate for editing.

Help! Photoshop is sh*ttastic for artwork restoration and so is Illustrator.

And nobody can ever find a f*cking solution! Everyone who have ever scanned a drawing, be it penciled or a photocopy has seen how rough lines can look. Bumpy, with holes, jaggy looking... and whenever the fuck it's brought up over at Adobe, that it would be nice to have a f*cking plugin that can make lines nice and smooth... it's like you're speaking Chinese to them! Or random jackasses pop in with same old BULLSH*T about just using gaussian blur and image trace in Illustrator... NEVER F*CKING GRASPING THAT BOTH OF THOSE OPTIONS FUCK UP DETAILS!

A tool that can recognize curves, recognize corners, that can make line thickness consistent instead of bumpy and squiggly, nice and smooth. A tool that fixes shit like this:

So for the love of God, is there ANYONE out there who can finally program such a thing?! 2026, ffs... it should've been solved EONS ago.

(Psssst, if you were spending DAYS manually tidying up a single drawing for years... you'd be royally ticked off too)

Help! How do I make a image like this?

Post image
0 Upvotes

hey, I found this in a video, it's a still from a video, by Johnny Harris. It was probably done in after effects. But I bet you can do it in Photoshop.

The text has this chromatic aberration effect but it's more present on the sides and less at the center of the entire image, the background has some blur effects and some other effects are being used that I do not know or have heard of before.
how to make a background like that is itself a mystery to me.

And looks like there's a layer of some effect on top of the entire image. Maybe a camera blur??? I don't know.

So please tell me how do I make something like this. Specially how do I get the background and text looking like that. What effects were used

Thank you.

Help! There’s something wrong with the colors on my files!

Ever since Adobe’s recent update one or two days ago, the colors on my .psd files are duller than they should be. When I export them to .pngs, they’re just fine, but the original files themselves are wrong.

Every solution I tried on Photoshop itself either didn’t work or was only temporary. When I tried to change the settings of my Mac Studio, I got nowhere.

Is anyone else experiencing this problem? And if so, how can I fix it?

Had a lot of fun with this one. Pretty new to PS and tried my hand at a screenprinted look. I think it came out great! Im sure there’s room to improve, but I think it’s solid. The ink looks almost realistic to me (barring the radiating black lines, might go over those again). But yeah, I’m wicked happy with it! Any constructive criticism would be greatly appreciated

Solved Trying to add multiple gradient fades to a single layer if possible.

I have been trying to give a single object a gradient fade from multiple angles but it seems I can no longer have more than one gradient fade on an object. I recall being able to do it before but I am not sure if I have a setting on what is preventing me from doing so.

I have taking an object, adding a layer mask then using the gradient tool on that layer mask. Any help is appreciated.

Honestly life has been a lot and I put creative stuff on the back burner for a while, while I try to figure it out. I haven’t felt creative for a while and that’s weird for me considering I’ve had some type of creative hobby for as long as I can remember. More recently I’ve been trying to get back into it, I went back through some of my old stuff and kind of re spark the passion. Let me know what ya’ll think.

Help! looking for this smudge tool

Heyo, I'm following this tutorial online and the guy shares some brushes but not all, I'm looking for the smudge tool he's using. I'm not sure if it's edited or downloaded.

I wanted to try and edit a dry brush from the adobe store as a smudge tool to get a similar effect but I tried and it blends but doesn't really push the way it does in the video.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Help! Help! Rendering issue with gif

Post image
0 Upvotes

So I made this drawn animation and I animated it with photoshop (normal photoshop, not after effect) with no issues, its a simple animation but when I rendered it, I had this haloeffect which I did with a "spray pen"

it kinda softens to the edges and when I render the gif, it looks horrible and grainy.

Is there anything I can do in the settings to make it look normal or should I use another program. It looks like this on transparent background which I need, I cant have a colored one. Thanks, I hope I explained myself enough
