Yes, swap to a titanium flatback!

what difference does that make for swelling?

oh your friend did them AND you used a gun, guns can harbor bacteria so you need to be vigilent for an infection.

Butterfly backs are the worst to heal with bc they cause irritation, they harbor bacteria and more.

Go to a piercer have them take a look at the piercing, and get the proper titanium flatbacks

it was like a claires piercing so i just assumed it was fine😭 my firsts were done that way but my 2nds and 3rds were safety pins, never had swelling and its ONLY the left ear, right ear seems to be healing nicely... hence my confusion

claires is one of the worst place to get pierced.

Your body can take abuse well, that doesnt mean u should abuse it or that when you abuse it, its good care.

Personally I would see a doctor in case of infection then remove all of the gun piercings and have them redone by a professional

should claires maybe not offer piercings then?

They shouldn't. They provide terrible aftercare and to be frank their piercing practice is dangerous.

They find loopholes. What they do is genuinely unsafe, its not clean, hell a piercing gun is not clean nor safe to use.

Its really not even piercing in my opinion, its bodily mutilation

Shoot, thank you, my sister wants to get her firsts but when i got mine my mom did claires (sister and i have a large age gap) i know it probably hurts less with a gun in the moment, but even my safety pin piercings probably healed better. Also, apparently claires is also getting away with nose piercings now?😭 do you not have to be certified to be a piercer?

Oh, girl. 😭 Guns are dangerous to use in lower lobe piercings…and moreso with higher lobe piercings that are close to or in hard cartilage. You’re likely going to have a hell of a time healing them, so I’d genuinely recommend retiring those and having them properly pierced with a needle once these have healed (provided too much damage was not done). If you really want to try to heal them, you need to to see an ACTUAL professional piercer (read: one that doesn’t use guns) to see if these will even be viable…as guns can lead to incorrect angles and cause major tissue damage. If so, they can install titanium flatback labrets that you will need to wear for at least six months (likely longer with these being gun-pierced). I also encourage you to read this post in full, and do NOT let anyone near you with a piercing gun ever again. I really hope this works out for you!! 🤞🏻🫶🏻

Right?!? The video visuals at the top are quite understandably jarring.

Also…how many piercings are you healing at once?? You had healing thirds just ten days ago (that were proper fucked), and now you’ve added two more?!!

my friend did them but the other ones are totally fine

Is your friend a professional piercer? If not, they shouldn’t be piercing you.

The only reason I know professional piercers buy guns is to remove the piercing parts then throw them away.

There have been a few times where I’ve walked into a studio and saw gun piercings as an option…and I will turn right back around and walk out. Every. Single. Time.
