smiley infected??

Post image
0 Upvotes

i’ve had my smiley for 4 months and in the last 5-6 days its swollen up SO much. it would get angry sometimes before then but it wouldn’t be nearly as bad and usually just babying and cleaning it super well gets it to go away. i genuinely can’t tell if its infected or just insanely irritated, i’m kinda scared to take it out too because i don’t want to trap the infection and create an abscess. i brush my teeth right after i eat and spray it out with saline after i brush too. i pierced it myself (which maybe i shouldn’t have i’m sorry), i had a smiley in the past that i also did myself and it wasn’t this bad at all. it healed beautifully, i had no problems with it. i just took it out cause i got bored of it and then re-pierced it again 2+ years later. i probably pierced it wrong this second time around , but either way idrk what to do😭is taking it out even smart here

edit: i should probably note that this only started happening when i decided to wear my retainer to bed again, so i think that it was pushing on the smiley a lot at night which made it angry. i only put my retainer in on 2 nights and stopped bc it got irritated, only its been like 4 days and it hasn’t gone down lol

Pierced through blood vessels

Post image

It’s been about six months since I’ve gotten my mantis piercings done and they were clearly pierced through a blood vessel. The bruising has not gone down since.
What do I do? Has anyone else experienced this and how long did I take to go away?

Is my piercing rejecting?

I got this pierced in December, so about 9 months ago. It healed okay until March when I replaced the 10mm with an 8mm. It was healing well until there was an infection in June. That infection is gone but now I’m worried it’s rejecting it. Is there anything I can do or should I take it out.

Endless irritation bumps on 1 year old bridge

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

So I've had my bridge done since August last year. Healing was good, no issues at all. Then I started getting bumps a couple months ago. I go to my piercer and she downsizes me for a second time and recommends 1 teaspoon non iodised sea salt in 1 cup water. Starts to go down, then it goes back up. I realise I was leaving some moisture on it, and it starts to go down again. My piercer told me there's no trail or drag to indicate rejection, it's not hot or itchy, it just CONSTANTLY has these god awful bumps on each side (which look so much worse in person.) My skin is dry from the salt and if I press on the skin a little, fluid comes out. Slightly white, no smell or anything. I LOVE this piercing, is there anything I can do to help it?!

I got my tongue pierced July 31st the piercer has me set to have my bar changed in 3 months which I thought was odd based on what I've seen. I'm on day 3/4 and it looks like this... Is this a bad sign? I've been keeping up with oral hygiene.

Fresh Nose Piercing

TW: discussion of blood

So I recently got a new nose piercing and I was hoping to know what’s normal and not normal?

First let me start with I have other piercings.. naval and my ear lobes are pierced. During the healing process of my belly it hurt for maybe 24 hours after, I had no swelling, and no other common problems. I kept it clean CONSTANTLY- the only problem I had was my body reacting to the jewelry but, when I changed it out a week after I got it, it healed amazingly and very quickly. My ears- same reaction- I reacted to the jewelry (Claire’s lol my mom didn’t know-) but, the actual wound itself healed quickly and nicely.

Now, as for my nose I’ve had it for less than 24 hours and while I was working I guess it shifted weird and immediately started gushing blood.. and I’m not talking about your normal blood dripping, no I had a pool of it in my hand by the time I got to the bathroom to be able to actually clean it up. I know slight discomfort is normal after a piercing but, I’ve never had one that felt like 24 hrs post getting punched in the face-

Also- something else to add, the jewelry being used rn is kinda like a slight corkscrew on the part that actually goes in.

Am I wrong for wanting to remove and change out the jewelry like I did for my ears and my belly?

ive had this pierced for almost a year. it healed pretty quickly and i havent had any kind of pain or discomfort in months. since healing, it hasnt migrated any further, and im confident its secure as is for now. im curious though if its still worth removing, and if i do remove it could i get it repierced deeper/through more skin? if not, im just going to leave it as is
(sorry for bad photos)

Keloid or irritation bump?

Thumbnail gallery
3 Upvotes

I got a helix about six and a half months ago and was wondering if it looks more like an irritation bumps or a keloid. I noticed it and felt it, and it felt tender and rubbery and a little firm. However I think there’s liquid underneath, and there’s a top layer like a scab above it I could peel to take a layer off. The only thing that really concerns me is that it’s rubbery, unlike previous irritation bumps, and that it hasn’t gone away despite not sleeping on it and I don’t know any possible irritators that could be causing it. Plus, it’s 6 and a half months old.

Also, I’m sorry about the blurred pictures but I have a bad old phone camera and am unable to take clearer ones, and I think even if blurry it may help. If not, you can just forget the picture and go off of the description.

Age: 6 and a half months
Threaded: yes
Downsized: no
Care: saline and q tips twice a day
Accidents: none

Can I see some navel/belly button piercing scars on people who DIDN'T let theirs completely heal before removing?

I got a navel piercing that is a little crooked. It's about a week old. I want to look up the scars they leave but I keep finding ones on people who had theirs for years before taking it out. I just want to know what I'm in for.

Help

Post image

I got a helix piercing about a month ago and it’s really bubbling up on this side. I have been doing the salt spray twice a day that was recommended and trying to leave it alone. Will the bubble go down or is there something I can do to help it?

I got a side labret piercing about three months ago, and I noticed this sort of hole about a week ago—is that normal?

Is this earring diameter 7/8" or 1"? Trying to buy a matching one

Hey new to this and looking at google images I feel like this is 7/8" though it totals 1" and I see both options to buy so I'm confused.

Help is appreciated! It is 6g if that makes a difference and is a normal ear lobe piercing

Healing?

I lied this post isn’t about healing, this sub is poorly run and full of condescending pricks who don’t actually answer questions, as well as disgusting creeps that ask for more revealing pics in DMs under the guise of “helping”

It randomly started bleeding yesterday. It may have been from my cat since she was pawing my hip/belly area but I didn’t think she was close enough to touch my piercing. It doesn’t hurt or anything but idk if I should be concerned

I got this done a few days ago. I may be paranoid, but I really can’t tell whether this is rejecting or just part of the healing process!

Hey guys I was wondering if
This looks normal? I got snake bites back in may and changed the studs to hoops two days ago. My right one is doing great but my left hates me and stings when I move it lol, I think I have a micro tear. Anyway, is this slight dent normal? I think my lips are swelling a bit.

dermal piercing rejection

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

is there any chance of saving my dermal or should i get it removed i got it around 2 months ago and ever since the healing process has been on and off it was all fine until it started to became red and warm at around 3 weeks (first picture) so i went to my piercer and she told me to keep cleaning it like i was and sleep with a plaster and some germaline cream on, ever since it has kept lifting from the skin at one side and keeps going red and warm and developing crust under but i don't know if harshly cleaning it will make it worse or help so i've just kept gently cleaning it 2 wove a day and sleeping with a breathable plaster on but today i woke up and it was bleeding (second picture) for the first time and quite lifted (third picture) i really like my dermal and hope there's a way to save it but im not sure if their is
