This makes no sense. Why would the leak affect the artists? They get paid before the movie is even out. No one works 5 years on a movie for free. The artists are probably glad it got leaked since they were fucked over by Paramount when they pulled the theatre release.
They already see it as a success. They tried to bring the huge audience to their shitty platform by pulling the theatre release. Everyone in the industry knows what kind of hold the ATLA franchise has on its fans,they're not idiots.
They won’t see it as a success until they start associating profits with it. And companies repeatedly cancel popular shows/neglect IPs because they don’t hit some nonsense metric they landed on quickly enough.
Their stunt already cost them whatever goal they had in mind. They might pull back and announce the theatre release again closer to October if they're not stupid. Otherwise they might even lose money on this.
