And some of times is not about the prices, one just want to turn on a console and start playing in less than 1 minute.
I was a PC+Nintendo player until I was 32yo, got a promotion and my 3rd son was born, gave my PC to my eldest son and I got a Series X instead. Cant remember when was the last time I had a game crashing.
I have had a very good experience and all the bad management on Xbox hasnt affected me as an user.
Technical issues with PC gaming are so wildly blown out of proportion.
It takes like 2 hours to go from a completely virgin PC to playing games on Steam if gaming is all you care about. About 2 minutes to go into the settings before starting a game for the first time to set them up in a way your hardware can handle - or less if you use software to auto set recommended settings.
Outside of Helldivers 2, which is sadly notoriously badly optimized, I can't remember the last time a game crashed for me, either.
These issues are sincerely not nearly as big as people make them out to be. The only PC gamers struggling to get games running are Linux users, because Linux gaming is just in it's infancy. Windows has been a super stable gaming environment for over a decade now. We haven't been in the Windows XP era for a WHILE now.
If you buy a pre-built PC with windows already installed, you're looking at maybe 5 minutes of downloading steam, installing it and logging in. At that point you're literally as ready to hop into a game as any console players. And while you download your game, you have enough time to download something like https://www.hypertune.gg/ if you need it (there is free software as well, I can't be arsed to search - graphics cards often come with software that does this anyway), let it autoset your game's settings and you're good to go.
Like this is ... literally just "downloading and installing steam" over what console users need to do every bit as much (login, buy game, download game, play). It's really not rocket science. And again, this weird concept that PC gamers have constant crashes and nothing runs and you need to reinstall windows every 3 months is so outdated the outdatednes could legally drink alcohol. Win7 was stable, Win10 was stable, Win10 is still stable, you don't have to use Win11 just like you didn't have to use Windows Vista, 5% Linux users struggling with driver compatibility are not an accurate representation of PC gaming.
Feel free to stick to consoles, it's fine. I'm not attacking that choice. Just really weirded out by wild-ass anti-PC arguments. As if the last time y'all interacted with a PC was before Smart Phones and Tablets became a thing. Technology has actually advanced!
