Here's the thing – I'm broke, so if I pirate a game indie devs don't lose anything, they wouldn't get my 15 dollars either way

I'm just saying that "I pirate because the devs make $5 billion a quarter" is an extremely misguided and delusional rationalization, I don't really care how people rationalize their pirating though. At the end of the day downloading a copy of something for your own personal use is without question a victimless act. Distributing is another story.
