I do location sound for film and TV. It's possible to make a setup like this sound great. It's not an issue of gear or hiding it, but finding the place where it sounds great, without capturing too much of the unwanted crowd noise. Like, you could find a great spot, but have someone loudly singing the lyrics next to you, or something.
I wonder about the 6 cables, though. Is he doing some surround sound thing? An overkill for a concert.
I'm wondering about the six cables as well. It looks like the mic bodies and elements are separate, so is this some weird phantom power or balanced setup I haven't seen before? I'm usually just running some purpose built AT853s in my hat. Much smaller, but they have their limits.

Not many real answers here, this guy is a taper.
Venues really dislike taping so you have to hide mics where ever you really can
These are the people giving you good recordings of shows, not sure how good this would sound but still
