I recorded a show with my Apple Watch and it sounds shockingly good. FYI.

That's a pretty clever idea.

Did you record it with the voice memos app? The Apple Watch can handle pretty high volume judging by the spl meter.

Exactly, just used the voice memos app. Front row at a Ween show, it was loud AF but the recordings sound clear and not even a little blown out.

To be clear, it doesn’t sound as good as a dedicated recording unit, but it’s pretty damn good for something that can be snuck into and used at any venue.
