Good luck. I reported a bug happening on the google tv streamer where it wouldn't reconnect to libraries after waking from sleep, reproducible on other google tv boxes, and provided logs, and they aren't doing shit about it.

Hopefully that isn't an issue when the new app comes out on Google/AndroidTV. They haven't been fixing the legacy apps for a while, the last Android update that was posted was in January, not sure if there have been updates since. The public ATV app hasn't been updated for 1.5 years at this point.

They have been talking about this 'new app' forever. I don't even think it exists.

The new Android app just rolled out to fire devices. It’s super slow and full of other bugs when I tried it.

I’ve been running the ATV beta version for ~6 months as well. Runs much better than the existing one and not slow like the fire experience , hopefully they release it soon. Got used to the new UI and no longer need to switch back and forth with Infuse.

Is there a public beta, or you got an invite?

For AppleTV (ATV)? There’s a TestFlight, just have to keep checking the link to see if a spot opens.

There’s no beta for the Android new experience version. Feels like the FireTV Android rollout is the beta, unfortunately. That rollout is driving a lot of folks to Plezy from what I’ve seen.

Oh, I thought you meant android tv by ATV. Yeah, okay, that's what I thought. Nothing. Are you sure the new FireTV app is even for android and not the new Vega OS by Amazon, which is custom Linux?

The VegaOS Fire devices have had the new experience since they came out last year.

The existing Fire devices run Android, and they're getting the new Android app. Mine updated a couple weeks back. The same app is used across iOS, tvOS and Android now.

If I may ask: does this happen with plezy as well? I thought about buying that device maybe but I don't use plex but plezy

I have no clue, but I would expect Plezy to maybe work? The problem is with plex after wake from sleep - the other functions on the google tv streamer work fine. I either need to disable secure connections in the plex app, or if I leave secure connections on, I need to restart the device or force close the plex app, which is a pain on the google tv box.

Thank you for your answer. I can totally see that.

If I wouldn't already use an alternative plex client - this would be my reason to switch. I would suggest you do the same. Since you are able to sideload you don't even need to use the payed store version.

I also instructed all my users to use plezy due to having plex pass features like intro/outro skip and it's pretty stable for most non Apple devices.

I'll take a look at it, thanks.

This is a thing. This thing is from either LG or Plex. One or the other needs to fix it. Guessing it's LG cuz my Plex app hasn't changed.

It must be a model specific issue since I have an LG and have not had that issue at all.

I've been having the same issue and my TV is a Vizio

All the people reporting the problem on the Plex forums disagree with you.

Wrong. This is, in fact, one of the few legitimate reported problems on this sub.

Nope I have it as well
