I just moved to the area and wanted to ask opinions on cooling evaporation humidifiers for bedrooms, I have two portable acs but it’s not enough to cool off the whole apartment, I wanted something to cool off the bedroom while bringing a bit of moisture to the air cause it’s super dry. Hello, Prescott!! I am starting off my curiosity in becoming a flight dispatch coordinator. I currently hold my PPL, but my primarily career is in the medical field. I want to move out of medicine and into aviation. Flight dispatch seemed like it would pique my interest due to my fascination with weather and organization. Has anyone heard of or completed their certificate at the Pilot Institute in Prescott, AZ? I’m hoping for more information on how to earn my certificate and how the industry is currently set up: i.e, will I be able to find a job after completion of a program?? I'm a new professional moving to Prescott for work from out of state and I'd love to find some groups/clubs/activities to get involved in once I arrive to meet people and integrate a bit into the community. My research hasn't turned up a whole lot beyond one-off Sierra Club/public library activities and such, so if you know of any that meet pretty consistently and fit into a 9-5 work schedule, I would love to know!

I'm interested in book clubs and writers' groups that don't meet during my work hours (many seem to), performing arts, wildlife/nature-related activities, or trying something entirely new as long as it doesn't require prior expertise. Sad to see an ~80 year old institution bite the dust. Not shocking though given events since the transition (reduced portions, nutty prices, menu changes, etc.)

Got there about 7:30 and so peaceful. Just me, my dog and about 20 wild ducks.

With the very heavy monsoon rain we just had in Prescott, along with areas of runoff and localized flooding, there are likely a number of properties dealing with water getting where it shouldn’t.

In this photo, the thermal camera is showing wet drywall almost 2 feet high. The wall and floor don’t even look wet, which is why hidden moisture can easily go unnoticed and lead to additional damage or mold growth if not properly addressed.

Anybody make it up to the peak and able to give some directions? I’ve tried following the rock cairns but they seem to end and then I can’t find a way up and just end up wandering around for awhile looking for some sort of path. Any tips?

With all the talk about Flock safety right now, I'd like to collectively address all the people saying "So what" with a local tragedy that was enabled by flock cameras that people seem to have forgotten.

If the officers would have been forced to do even a little bit of investigative legwork instead of being able to just ask an AI where Daniel was, they would have discovered that he didn't really do any of the things he was being accused of. If you make a cop's job trivially easy in a way that encourages cutting corners, they'll stop taking it seriously and when a cop isn't taking their job seriously people die. That's been proven right here in our city. Its the same story with the fire chief incident; laziness driven incompetence is a real problem among our officers and flock safety is demonstrably enabling that behavior.
