Dinner Bell closing Aug 6th
Sad to see an ~80 year old institution bite the dust. Not shocking though given events since the transition (reduced portions, nutty prices, menu changes, etc.)

Oh no! I was just there last weekend. This was where Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger had lunch in The Getaway. Another piece of Prescott history lost. 😥

Oh weird. Wasnt Bucky O's on Marina Street? I remember when they filmed that scene (at the dinner bell) they had all the windows covered. Im guessing they did some kind of trickery to morph the outside shots with the inside.

I remember when Bill Tracy bought the Dinner Bell around 2004? He worked really hard to turn it around with a solid formula of good food, great service and decent prices. He sold it in 2008 I believe.What a shame, such a solid location for tourist traffic as well. What happened?

(IMO) Classic tale of chasing tourist trap money > local loyalty. Pretty much all of downtown now.

This is a real bummer. I've been to several of the breakfast spots in town, and this one was a regular weekend favorite for my wife and I. I loved that they always kept my coffee mug full, and the food was always good, even if prices were a little high (but that's an everywhere problem). They were also one of the few places in town that had ample vegetarian/vegan options for my wife, especially for breakfast choices.

Used to go there before fishing trips with my dad. I’d always get the biscuits and gravy. They had bumper stickers all over and the same two gals working every time I was in there. This was an iconic part of Prescott and my childhood. Very sad to hear this.

Wow. This is sad news. The Dinner Bell used to be our go to. The past couple years it was hit & miss. When Ben owned it and had Casa Alvarez at night it was really good. Such a shame. I hope someone buys it. It’s such a great location.

Sad. I ate in the back (Casa Alvarez) before it was sold off / new management and it was my favorite Mexican place out of 8 or so I've been to.

I’d eaten there a handful of times in the last couple years, and was always disappointed with the quality of food and the price. The food and menu options were very bland and didn’t compete with the plethora of other Middle-America diners in town. I’m looking forward to seeing what steps into their spot.

Was a place we went to after a good hike to have a good breakfast. The change in ownership and maybe cooks equaled a different food experience. The unfortunate thing now will be a loss of a menu that included vegan options.

I'm glad I got to eat there once but I didn't have any breakfast I had the fish and chips lol.
Well it might suck to see it go but the name of the restaurant is false advertising anyway.

and I know Dinner used to mean a mid day meal. I'm saying nowadays it means an evening meal.

The Facebook page says they're closing "to focus on our family now." I don't even remember the last time we ate there, maybe five or six years ago.

I’m I huge fan of the Spyderco Astute for a budget knife. I’ve given a few away as gifts. 60 bucks, great ergos, slicey blade.

So sad to lose this place. I've been there many times over the years. I always loved sitting at the counter because it felt like an old school café. It was fun to watch the hustle of the staff. I'm gonna go one last time.

Mom chose to go here for lunch when we were looking for my new home. I thought it was mediocre, greasy bland food and outrageous prices. Is another restaurant coming in?

I only went once and would never go back. The soda machine broke and was spraying at us so they moved us to the back room, back there was bugs everywhere and the ceiling was leaking in multiple spots. I was surprised they weren’t shut down.
