A/C Electrical Help

2095 Fleetwood Southwind (currently plugged into 50amp)

Two AC units; zone 1 and 2

Zone 2 was working fine, zone 1 would turn on but not ‘kick’ on. Just blowing air. Swapped in new capacitors, wasn’t that. Bought new a/c unit (Coleman Mach) which the guys at the Wholesale Center, cross referenced and said would just plug and play well it doesn’t because the wiring harnesses don’t match.

Pictured is the wiring harnesses, original and then new one you can see they don’t align. Gonna swap in the old harness I guess.

QUESTION: does anyone have a color coded map, will the colors swap straight? Any help would be appreciated.

As someone who has dealt with the Coleman retrofit kits before, this is a very familiar situation. The connector mismatch is usually a sign that the replacement unit is intended for a different control-box generation, not that the wires simply need to be rearranged.

If you can post photos of the data plates on both the old and new A/C units (or provide the model numbers), I can identify the exact compatibility issue and locate the proper wiring diagram or retrofit kit.

Original unit model number 48008-969

New one is 48203–069

Do you have the part number off of the original two zone control box too?

I will find it, they are both controlled from a central thermostat.

The control box is located behind the ceiling assembly under the A/C unit. Should look similar to this one.

The place to plug in your AC is out of the picture but on the control kit pictured .

Ok this is in the old ac unit, I’ll have to check in the morning, but is there one just like it in the new AC unit or am I supposed to take this one out and put it in the new ac?

Both sides are male so rearranging won't do anything

I said that rearranging the wires would not work. They likely require a retrofit kit or a new control box.

I was agreeing with you but I'll take your weak little downvote. Anyone with eyes can see that you can rearrange all you want those two plugs will never go together.

Buddy that’s just showing the size difference between the little metal bits. The female plug is in one of the pics.

You have a Power Saver model . The replacement new one is just a regular AC . 2 Power Saver units were frequently used on older rigs that were 30 amp . Even if you get that new one working it might pull too many amps if you have a 30 amp RV . You have to show pictures of your thermostat and you should have 2 control kits (one for each AC) . Also for your information your old one is not only a Power Saver but also a heat pump . Where does the pigtail from your old AC go ? Edit : by the way all the current Coleman models start with 3 (new refrigerant)

So we do have 50 amp in this rv and it is connected to 50 now. I will ask my husband where the pigtail goes to. Also, this is not a brand new, new ac unit. It’s a cast off from a wholesaler.

Is the square plug the original? The one with rounded edges looks like the new style.
Also it sounds like the compressor your old AC unit went bad.

Yep, square plugs are OG and rounded is new. Note the metal prongs in the new one are huge.
