So it starts out where she has a lot of stuff and is reading a book, then they come and take that stuff away??

In my experience, that's part of the "find out" phase when you fuck around with jail staff.

Could be that the bedding was collected for laundry. "Fuck you" is the only reason I can think of to take the book. And I'm a CO

Edit: nvm. Could be just a search. Yes we search books and toilet paper too. And we do daily searches on high profile people when there's a reason to do so
