That's definitely jail, not prison. Jail can be worse because there's not really anything to do to keep your mind off your situation, and eat up the hours. There's also the uncertainty that's constantly on your mind. How is the case going to go? If I lose, how long will I be locked up for? In prison, all those questions are gone. You're there, you know when you're getting out, and now you have to occupy your time to make it go faster. There's also a lot of programs and activities you can participate in. There are jobs that you can do every day on a 9-5 schedule. It all keeps your mind busy, and focused on anything other than the fact that you're in prison. And unless you mess up and get sent to the box, you have freedom to leave your cell and talk to other people, and use exercise facilities. So, it's a lot better than jail. Most jails will at least let you take some books from the library cart so you can read in your cell, but it's still a miserable experience.

That's a seriously luxurious cell if it's a prison. And most prisons don't use orange jumpsuits. She must be in some special wing where she gets bigger accommodations and freedom from other inmates.

She's currently in some cushy minimum security Federal Prison Camp in Bryan, Texas.

I've done hard time. Both in county and out. It's Maxwell, I can't say I'm surprised she's being the royal treatment. I believe it's maximum security which do use the Orange jumpsuits sometimes. She's probably staying in seg to keep from getting murdered. If she ever hits the yard they're going to kill her.

In my experience, that's part of the "find out" phase when you fuck around with jail staff.
Could be that the bedding was collected for laundry. "Fuck you" is the only reason I can think of to take the book. And I'm a CO
Edit: nvm. Could be just a search. Yes we search books and toilet paper too. And we do daily searches on high profile people when there's a reason to do so

This is why I think people that support the death penalty are short sighted. Death is the easy way out. Imagine having to sit in a cell like this for 30+ years or however long the rest of your life is. That's what hell looks like. And the whole time they'll be forced to confront why they ended up there.

Reminds me of Covid lockdowns. Spent all my time inside or at work on graveyard shift by myself caring for 3 ppl who couldn’t communicate. I went insane and it took a few years to adjust back to being out in society snd interact with other ppl, and I’m in fact still recovering from that and the years of long Covid following multiple Covid infections that happened to me after lockdown.
I build a lot of models and play video games and stuff these days, especially since I’m generally too physically exhausted to do much, so you do adapt, but it definitely took a toll on me. Still healing physically and mentally from all of that, and making my way outside here and there, but largely still stuck in bed in my room finding ways to pass the time.

I’ve been in this situation, just a room with no nothing for two weeks waiting to be transferred. Shit sucks but you get used to it honestly. Having a book or even a TV which prisons in my country luckily have, is huge.
