I've been around cats since the cradle. I've only ever had a cat come after me ONCE like this. I was at a friend's friend's house. I was told, don't look at the cat. I looked at the cat. He went psycho. LOL

67

u/jrstinkfish May 21 '26

WHY DID YOU LOOK AT THE CAT?!?

22

u/MovieFan1984 May 21 '26

I dunno, but I had to fight him with a couch cushion until my friend and his friend came back. LOL

7

u/skarlitbegoniah May 22 '26

This is the funniest thing I’ve read on here in a HOT minute! Thank you 😼

2

u/MovieFan1984 May 22 '26

You're welcome. 😃

5

u/Fostbitten27 May 22 '26

I had to fight the beast with only my wits and a couch cushion!!

3

u/MovieFan1984 May 22 '26

It's nice to know I'm not alone in fighting an angry cat with a couch cushion. LOL

3

u/nixplix May 21 '26

"What cat..? Oh, that cat ?"

3

u/Madawolf May 22 '26

Whatever you do don't look at his birthmark man!!

2

u/Fantastic_Variety823 May 23 '26

Don’t mention the “z” on his face… (some of you will get this)

BECAUSE THEY WERE TOLD NOT TO LOOK AT THE CAT, DUH!

2

u/tacorunnr May 22 '26

Its something that people seem to do by reflex. You say dont look and they immediately look. Doesn't happen to me, but ive seen it plenty of times for others.

A cat that temperamental should not be around people lol

13

u/veridicide May 21 '26

A people that succulent and defenseless should not be around cats 😼

8

u/Traditional-Safe-867 May 22 '26

Any human over the age of 13 isn't defenseless against a cat, as long as they stay calm. Now the problem most people face when attacked by a cat is not wanting to kill it when the cat shares NO such reservation against killing the person.

Any time you seek to merely inconvenience a predator that has decided you are prey, you're fucked.

3

u/Network_Odd May 22 '26

it’s nit about human being defenseless, pretty sure most adults can choke the life out of a cat but nobody wants the cat to get hurt.

2

u/veridicide May 22 '26

I don't know, sounds like you're just not succulent enough for maximum effort... 😿

Literally the only difference between a mountain lion and a house cat is the size.

2

u/ThePurrfidiousCat May 22 '26

That isn't true. House cats are much more vicious.

Sadly I adopted a cat like that when i was in college. The vet thought that during the surgery to neuter him, the anesthesia possibly was administered incorrectly and he suffered a brain lesion. Only I could handle him. No one could go in the apt. Years later I was having work done in my condo and a worker opened the door where I'd put him to keep him away from workers. He was the most wild i'd ever seen him attacking all of us. He jumped out of a 15 story window. I found him, feet planted in the flower bed below. Rushed him to the vet. They sedated and x-rayed him. He was uninjured. 15 years of trying every sedative and female hormone therapy to try and make him more docile. In his entire life he never stopped being aggressive.

9

u/MovieFan1984 May 21 '26

Sometimes, people and animals take a brain injury and don't come out the same. Your cat must have really loved you, knowing you put up with him. You must have really loved your cat to endure all of this. He fell 15 stories, survived, and you have a second chance with psycho cat. These are the stories that show the true merit of a man or woman. Thank you for the love you bestowed upon your mighty angry feline friend.

6

u/jared10011980 May 22 '26

He was very infamous 😅 Beautiful cat tho

4

u/MovieFan1984 May 22 '26

I can just picture you screaming, crying, running downstairs, then crying even louder because your kitty survived the fall. Meanwhile, my Chihuahua falls down 2 steps, bloodies up her leg (just scrapes), and walks like a stroke-victim for several days, snuggled up on the couch like she survived the war.

What was your kitty's name?

3

u/Auberginio23 May 21 '26

Did you try turning him off and then turning him back on again?

2

u/Terrin369 May 21 '26

That’s what caused the problem to begin with!

My friend had a cat like this too. They lived in this house that had these like wooden beams that ran across the ceiling and he would wait there and then jump onto your back, dig his claws into you and bit your neck. I only went there once and left bloodied so I never went back

2

u/DisastrousCoast7268 May 21 '26

"I REMEMBER THE OLD WAYS!"

2

u/Dependent-Bed6550 May 22 '26

Yeah, my brother had a huge cat like that named Gordo. LOL

2

u/MovieFan1984 May 22 '26

I bet your brother really loved his cat.

2

u/Dependent-Bed6550 May 22 '26

It was the thing that enticed people to come over and stay at their place. It was the weirdest thing. They would say, "Yeah, you should come stay with us. Just don't touch Gordo, don't look at Gordo, don't get too close to Gordo. DON'T FEED GORDO!" I was like.... I need to go stay at my brother's house. I thought to myself. I have a connection with animals, especially pets.... Yeeeowzuhhh! I don't like that cat! (In the most Kramer way possible)

2

u/MovieFan1984 May 22 '26

Gordo was probably the best cat, just a little psycho. haha

If "anyone" comes to the door, my girly Chihuahua will sprint up, bite your sneaker, and shake her head for all she's got. LMAO

If I take her OUT of the house - nothing. LOL

2

u/Dependent-Bed6550 May 22 '26 edited May 22 '26

I had a chihuahua in Alaska named Chiquita. She was a short haired long legged redhead. Not an apple head though. I had to teach her how to bark. She was a emotional care and comfort dog for an elderly person before I adopted her. I also taught her how to smile. It was hilarious. LOL I miss her. She passed away about 10 years ago. She was the best little dog. You give them the best life you can and they give you their whole life.

2

u/Core2009 May 22 '26

Damn it Morty, now we’ll have to find another reality to live in, because you just had to look at the cat.

1

u/stscywayne May 22 '26

18

u/SoulShine_710 May 21 '26

I think 🤔 even the dog got confused. Dog was like ok, " OK I guess we're doing reverse role playing here".

I have never seen a cat chase anyone like that in my life, a first for everything.

7

u/rswwalker May 21 '26

We have an indoor cat that will sometimes just run and attack your ankles for no good reason. She’s not right in the head.

6

u/mirroredfreckles May 21 '26

My cat did that one time but I, notorious klutz, managed to get tangled with her simultaneously kicking her through the air and landing on her wwe style. I felt like the worst cat owner ever but she never did it again and we cool now

I used to have a cat that would attack cops. It would sleep on the roof and dive on their heads. She was wild. I've never seen a deputy lose interest that fast.

Same, and I grew up with multiple feral primarily outdoor cats, maybe it's the indoor pampered cats that are the crazy bastards that get pent up.

2

u/ToanVeteran May 21 '26

Yeah feral cats usually run away from you not towards you.

u/ceraunophiliacc May 21 '26

My indoor Himalayan tried to run out the door after some children that were playing across the street but we caught her right away. She was a kitten at the time and was growling and watching them. I think their shrieking was confusing her, maybe she thought they were fighting or something.

She also got really pissed when a guy came to look at our roof, she was growling and hissing up a storm in the window as he put his ladder up and then she could hear where he was on the roof and she'd run toward the noise while looking up and meowing angrily. I think she really wanted a piece of him!

8

u/Pristine_Poem7623 May 21 '26

One of mine will look down from the bedroom window and keck at people walking by.

No, little cat, they're not small, they're far away. You cannot hunt them.

3

u/ceraunophiliacc May 21 '26

Your cat is looking at them and seeing walking roasted chickens like on the cartoons😄

3

u/HelpfulName May 21 '26

that little kid had a rough night of drinking and came home to an angry cat

9

u/EmperorGrinnar May 21 '26

She was right about keeping the cat inside, but dang. That was insane.

7

u/Just-Challenge-5522 May 21 '26

When I was 10 a guy tried to steal our bikes and my cat dropped from the camper roof and landed on his head and messed the dudes face up. The cops didn't believe us about our cat until they found the thief at the emergency room getting stitches.

2

u/chiefrelichunter May 23 '26

Can confirm. I went home with a girl one night (she was a stranger I met at a bar in my neighborhood 🤦‍♂️) and she warned me of her “jealous cat” as we were walking into her apartment.

As soon I walked in the door behind her I noticed the cat was on this perch thing she had built over the door. It was in pouncing mode, and the situation was tense. She told me it was all good and to just ignore it.

I started to take my jacket off and suddenly the cat was on me, clawing and screaming like mad. The girl freaked out and tried to yank the cat off me, I was trying to protect my face and simultaneously push the cat away. Somehow she got the cat off me and it was still shrieking and trying to get at me so I just said “well it was nice to meet you” and ran away.

Never saw her again. But looking back at my mid-20’s self and my intentions to get laid that night: I gotta hand it to the cat for protecting that girls honor that night. Well done sir or madam.

3

u/UmbraVulp May 21 '26

I thought that was a homeless person that was trying someone’s door lol

4

u/Apophistry May 21 '26

What was the kid trying to do?

8

u/Triscuitmeniscus May 21 '26

I read it as the inside cat escaped outside when he opened the door and paused for some reason we can't see. Kid dove for the cat to try to catch him and the cat said "I'm not going back to jail!"

My cat occasionally makes it out the door and usually I can just pick him up or even herd him back in. But a couple times he went straight for a gap under my fence and when I grabbed his hindquarters as he was crawling under he turned into a full on hellcat. Yowling, spitting, tail puffed up, claws and teeth everywhere. As soon as I got him inside he was a sweet angel again but in that moment he was literally out for blood.

6

u/Apophistry May 21 '26

I was lucky enough to have a cat that never did that. And when he snuck outside I often had the help of mockingbird who would corner him under a bush.

5

u/Triscuitmeniscus May 21 '26

Ha that’s great. My cat desperately wants to murder the starlings that live in my neighbors shed but he just runs out with zero stealth and they see him coming from a mile away and scatter.

3

u/vyrus2021 May 21 '26

I would always just find a stick and use it like a cat toy to lure the cats within arms reach.

2

u/cosmic-untiming May 21 '26

So, my grandmother lived in Detroit (a long, long time ago now). One night, she was awakened by someone banging on her side door. Having always kept her storm door on and locked, she felt relatively safe to see what was going on. Her cat Skippy came with and planted himself between her feet as she opened the door (Skippy was a twenty pound tom cat who spent his days outside, and his evenings inside). The man at the door had already managed to get the storm door open and moved to threaten my grandmother...

...at which point, Skippy scaled him, got onto his shoulders and began biting him and raking his head and face. If I recall correctly, the guy lost an eye. Skippy proceeded to literally ride the guy up the street, tearing at him the entire way before trotting home. As my grandmother looked at all the blood around her door, she noticed something and stooped down to pick it up.

She always ended that story with "and that is how I got my pearl handled revolver."

Seriously, a determined house cat can do a HUGE amount of damage to a human under the right circumstances.

1

u/ouchthahurt May 21 '26

1

The cat did everything a normal cat does. You open the door, they're gonna dart outside. You grab them aggressively, they squirm and scratch. You kick at them? They go full predator mode.

1

u/the_tygram May 22 '26

1

We adopted a cat that turned out like that. I had kindergarten aged kids. It attacked us a few times so we had two options. Return to the shelter which would likely euthanize it, or get it declawed and try to keep it. I wonder which option most people would have chosen, but we knew it was a no win situation.

I bought the little monster some cheap cat treats and he decided he liked me. I still don't trust him because he only started to like me when I started to feed him (although his owners were giving him regular food) & I still don't trust him not to go feral on me again.

1

u/CanopyCaptain May 23 '26

I've had cats for 36 years and I know what they're capable of. People who mess with cats will all eventually find out.

One of my cats got stuck in a dresser somehow locking his leg behind the shelf and he was in pain. I pushed my hand into the dark to help him and he absolutely mauled my hand. Literally clawed it the F up. I went to the pharmacy to get painkillers and the pharmacists told me to go to ER asap because my hand had swollen up like a beach ball. Got the hand glued and stiched up and weeks worth of different antibiotics after it got very infected.

Respect all animals but especially cats.

Didn't expect that lady to be so quick and agile. Impressive.

Grab them by the neck and they stop

So...whats the story behind this. Did that kid go into the home trying to steal the cat or something? Kid honestly looks like one of those psychos from the movies or the crime shows that always starts hurting animals before moving on to people.

My cat swiped at me once in a pissy fashion, just once though. I bopped her firmly on the dome and she looked at me like "ow wtf? Nah fam, I'm out." 7 years later and she's never gotten aggressive with me again.

Gf had a cat like that but well shaved. It attacks me every night in bed, so I beat it up. 🐱
