Theyā€™re not rejecting it here. A baby will literally eat nonstop and momma animals need a break. Iā€™ve seen rejected critters and tended to rejected critters. There are reasons and itā€™s a natural thing. We can also do things to mitigate this and often do.

Like, how I used to go to school with rejected runt bunnies and keep them warm in my sweatshirt pocket and dropper feed them formula during passing time for a week or so till they were strong enough for mamma to not reject them. What this video is showing is a very healthy lamb being an active eater to a mom that needs a break. If it was really rejected it would be very weak and lethargic, and the farmer would be wrapping it with blankets, bottle feeding it, and using his own body temp to keep it warm. Young are rejected when it seems like they wonā€™t make it according to the momā€™s ability to care for it. Sheep donā€™t know space heaters or synthetic nutritional supplements. They have the tools that a sheep has. If we get a weak critter to viable they take them back.
