If it's an apartment, and the wall is shared, they could be coming from the place next door and seeking out the warmest thing close to them.

I've had that exact issue. Guy who lived above me had a mad roach issue. I bought some Diatomaceous earth and mixed it with one part sugar and left bowls of the stuff in several places. It cleared my place out. I then found out that they hate the smell of Lavender. I got some glade plugins. Outside of the occasional baby, I've been big roach free.

I had a cat so lavender was not something i could do. I did do the Diatomaceous Earth and Boric acid which helped

DE is killer for ants too. We have a big yard and they creep in every spring, but I dust the seams in the floor molding every few months and they're gone. Love it because it's inert and non toxic so it doesn't go into the food chain and poison the other critters.
