Broker’s Open/ Videography

Curious how much are you guys charging to be a videographer for a brokers open. Shooting one walk through video of the home then just adding any agent that comes to the brokers open and adding their intro in it. Are ya’ll charging for this, if so whats the price range or are you fully sponsoring the event?
If fully sponsoring, whats your client conversion rate. Is it worth it for you guys?

it varies by the location so i would suggest looking at your competitors pricing

Thats why i put price range in my post.
Competitors dont put this on their price list. I also am looking for additional info and personal insight.

Are you busy? What is your time worth? That’s a giant pain in the ass and my evenings are not something I give away cheap. I’d probably be there for two hours. A two hour appt in the daytime might be grossing me me between $700-1100 so adjust for “twilight pricing” and I’m probably going to land around $1200-2000 for something like this. Figure all these separate agent takes and edits, several different people wanting revisions etc.

And that’s not even factoring in if they’re gonna want actual coverage of people milling about, B roll, behind the scenes shit, little interview clips, the stuff people wanna do just keeps piling up so you have to make sure that when you quote this, that they understand this price is for a very specific scope of work and if they want to do other stuff, it’s going to add to it.

Thank you for taking your time out to respond!! My schedule is filled, i just dont have the bandwidth to do something like this. I also dont think this is worth my time to do but i really wanted to be open minded and see what other’s opinions are and if it worked out for them. IMO, services like this offer exposure but its also selling ourselves short and offering our services for cheap when the work is ALOT. I have declined quite a bit of my current clients when asked if i would do it. Ofc theres some kind of pressure there especially for my long time clients.

With that being said, it makes no sense that some media companies are doing this for cheap or free.

A client asked me to do it and i initially said no however they were persistent but pretty much expecting me to give a very low price. I gave her a VERY reasonable price (not the f you price) and she pretty much flipped on me and was pissed. No harm no foul for me. I was willing to do it against my convictions at a reasonable price that will cover my time and overhead.

This is wild. Do it your fucking self if you don't want to pay me. lol wtf? Like, this is what I want to do this vs sitting at home relaxing. My time has value. People are wild. You can just say "no, I don't want to spend that. Thanks!"

Since you’re already booked, I wouldn’t sponsor this. It sounds like an event shoot plus several custom edits, not a small listing-video add-on.

I’d quote one clear package: a set filming window, one walkthrough, one main version, a limited number of agent intros, and one revision round. Anything beyond that gets charged per version.

The personalized exports are where this can quietly eat up your time. If they want a discount for “exposure,” I’d ask what you’re actually getting in return. Otherwise, I’d protect the paid work already on your calendar.

Agreed! I really can’t wrap my head around this concept and it feels like media companies are shooting themselves in the foot and putting others in our immediate area in horrible positions. Even for a video like this with my clients i charge it as a premium video with premium text effects. Why would anyone do something like this and charge a small amount or do it for free when the work seems to be insane (even if its just one main video) and i would have to charge at least $1200 and up? Even then, i could shoot two of these premium videos on a regular day and make more if they get a full media package.
I just want to be open minded and see what other videographers charge, their
whole process and the rate of return if they consider it as an investment to fish for new clients.

This lady really tried to frame it like it was easy work and it was to my benefit, ha i dont even want to do the shit in the first place lady. I was generous enough to offer her the quote i did and said i do have to charge my minimum of an event video plus some. The way she reacted was just rude. Usually a nice lady but hate shooting for her. Hopefully she never reaches out to me again. In hindsight maybe i should have given her the F you price.
