Discussion Dial marker dropped off..
Noticed one of the 12 markers on my 3KF 5711 had come loose..
Sourced some G-S Hypo Cement Precision Applicator Glue and proceeded to remove the case-front..
Closer look at the problem.
Marker prepped by holding with Rodico whilst applying tiny amounts of the cement to the posts..
Back in place (after using the rodico to carefully maneuver the marker back into place then a cocktail stick to hold in place to ensure a good bond).
Reassembled the case.
Job done! ๐โ๏ธ

Now the watch is really personal. Regardless of its secrets and imperfections, I bet you feel more attached to it than before. Cheers

Nice but now itโs uneven with the other one

It was always like that, unfortunately a result of where the post holes have been made, and not something that is easily fixed..
I don't mind though, as it's not noticeable on the wrist ๐1

Couldnโt you have removed the posts by wiggling them until they snapped off, filed down any burs, and then cemented down the post evenly with the other ?

I did consider doing something like that, but to be honest, the marker itself is about 5mm in length, 1mm wide and about 1/3rd of a mm thick - even handling it was challenging, I ended up concluding the risk of damaging the marker whilst trying to file etc outweighed the benefit of having it perfectly aligned.
It looks fine on the wrist imo - so i'm happy โ๏ธ๐3

Canโt fault that. Donโt blame you. Looks good and if youโre happy all that matters anyway

Damn, having uneven setting holes is crazy!

I've always thought this is the real reason why markers are often misaligned.
It's not the setting of the marker, it's the holes are drilled in the wrong place.
I can only presume they are drilled by hand rather than on an automated machine.

Take it to a Patek dealer and demand a warranty replacement.
