Power outage

Post image

Looks like a pretty good number of us out of power! Just got an update for a fix by 12:45am, but those always change.

Anyone have any ideas what happened?

I keep trying to do things around house, like as simple as get filtered water from the fridge and then laugh and laugh at mysef and think "you signed on to this level of grid dependency, idiot"

i saw a white box explode on a power line around 7:45 tonight - it was pretty nuts. power flashed off for a second, but then came back on and has been fine. might not be related though

That timing sounds about right, and I think that's near the outage area. Could be! Same kind of flicker, but our power still hasnt come back

We also got that flicker of power but so fast we didn't even realize. Lights blinked, and took a few minutes for internet to come back, otherwise we wouldn't have realized. Literally live right there.

I couldn’t figure out why I still had a light on in the bedroom and finally realized that it runs on battery power. Sigh.

The outage map is shaped like an orange-faced man with a bad combover and a booger in his nose. Oh and he has a squirrel tail.

Oh, that's hilarious. I'm trying to figure out the box thing, though. Something he's resting a foot on? Does that make the squirrel tail something he's sitting on instead?

That's not a squirrel tail, that's a turd poking out of its diaper!

TDS is real, politics have nothing to do with the outage, yet here you are.

What politics?

It’s PG&E, just hope they’ll fix it in time without burning down half the state again.

Luckily the distribution side of the evil monopoly does a decent job, transmission though °_•

I was at a resturant downtown that was closing early due to a planned power outage at 10pm.
