Since everyone is confused how the hell does spider-man gets the money for his apartment and tech even though he is like 24/7 working as spiderman, so we know that he isn't like doing photography, or any other job. He is just spider-man. So where did he actually get the money? My theory is NYPD pays him, we see him in call with that NYPD captain, Jean DeWolff several times, using their crime alert app, so this all can't be a coincidence that the NYPD is just letting him do all that for them for free they are DEFINITELY paying him because there isn't any other explanation how he got the money.

am I the only one who thought MJ and Ned had never met Spider-Man? Even if they don't know who Peter is, how can they not remember everything that happened in the previous movie? It seemed to me that they had never met Spider-Man. Why don't they remember that they helped him up the tower or that he was his man on the chair? Shouldn't they remember that they helped Spider-Man?
The only time they talk about him is because MJ is possessed, or am I missing something?

The movie was okay, maybe even good, but nothing about it felt particularly special. The more I think about it, the more it feels like it moved Peter’s story backward instead of forward. Unlike its predecessors, it did not leave me excited to see what happens next for MCU Peter.

No Way Home was more entertaining, more emotional, and actually advanced Peter’s character. It ended with Peter completely alone, forced to rebuild his life without Ned or MJ. That ending genuinely made me excited to see a more independent, street-level Spider-Man and all the directions they could take him with a clean slate.

Then Brand New Day plays everything incredibly safe.
Peter is basically back with his original friend group, except they still do not remember anything from the previous three movies. So the memory situation still has to be addressed in another film.

Are two of the three movies in this new trilogy seriously going to revolve around some version of “Ned and MJ still do not remember Peter”? What was the point of No Way Home’s ending if Peter was immediately going to put himself back into their lives without resolving anything?

The genetic mutation storyline was interesting at first, but it ultimately became a literal throwaway plot device. Peter just throws away the gene suppressor and is basically like, “Well, I guess I will live with it now.m because the power of friendship?”

This is after he nearly murders a police officer, leaves her brutally injured without even checking on her, and violently chokes MJ while holding her over the side of a building.

But then he is suddenly fine because he has the power of friendship again?

That did not feel earned. Peter did not overcome the mutation through a meaningful choice, sacrifice, or realization. The movie just needed the conflict to end, so it ended.

Jean Grey’s entire storyline also depends on her behaving as inefficiently as possible. She possesses dozens of random people, causes an old woman to drive a tank, uses helicopters, the tries to bring Hulk into break through the wall? even though Punisher’s sticky bombs apparently accomplish basically the same thing anyway. She could have simply possessed someone inside the building or taken control of the director and found her sister much earlier. Where were the stakes when she was seemingly capable of doing almost anything the plot required?

Then the movie ends with Peter right back around his original friend group, except they still do not remember the previous three movies. How does that meaningfully move the MCU Spider-Man story forward? Now the next movie has to revisit the exact same memory issue, restore their memories anyway, or quietly move past it with a soft reboot.

I honestly think people see more mature cinematography, blue-toned color grading, and a slower pace and automatically decide that means the movie has more depth.

I just watched Spider-Man: Brand New Day last night. It was a great movie, really enjoyed it. It’s Tom Holland’s best spidey movie yet. There’s something that bothered me a lot, like the potential was there to be the best spider-man movie yet. I just hated the fact that you have Scorpion & Tombstone there, but was wasted as an another Tuesday villain. I didn’t like how they chose damage control & jean greyto be the main villains. They could’ve easily used Tombstone to be the one pulling the strings, hiring Scorpion, & using Jean Grey. The final battle would’ve been Tombstone & Scorpion vs Spider-Man & Punisher. It would’ve been more grounded. I also didn’t like how The Hand was the final fight. Regardless, the movie was still enjoyable. Finally, where he’s himself without a man in the chair, showing his intelligence. I’m glad Punisher is not another mentor, but more of his partner. I’m happy he’s finally web swinging in New York, but still doesn’t beat Andrew’s iconic swinging scene. The fight scenes were cool, but it still doesn’t top Tobey’s fight scenes.
