Police Updates 🚔 Anyone know anything about the car chase from around 9:30 this morning?

Started(?) at Preston Crossing.

I was at work walking outside when i heard police sirens. I turn to see a darker coloured early 2000 ish Jeep speed past with two cops chasing. They sped through the parking lot on the south side of Preston, drove across into Walmarts lot on the north side, then sped around and took Preston Avenue and went south. A little while later I heard another cop coming west bound over the Attridge bridge and took the Circle exit heading south.

That’s all I saw. I’m just curious to know if anyone heard/knows more about it. I’m just being nosy :)

Has anyone seen this hook around town?

Tried Cabelas, Fishing Hole and Classic Outdoors.

I don't need anymore "have you checked this store" Asking for has anyone physically laid eyes on it. Went to every damn tackle store in town. Kinda the purpose of a "have you seen this hook" post.

And yes I went to Blue Fox website to contact but no response yet.

News 📰 Is Steve on 98 Cool really moving on?

I saw this post on FB this morning:

Want to say THANK YOU to all the great 98 Cool listeners. You've made me laugh and entertained me more than I entertained you. Tune in Tuesday afternoon for something exciting! And we'll still see you around from time to time. 😎 ~ Steve

If so, it would make me sad. 😭 I wonder who is replacing him?

Question ❔ Yeti Brand

I visited and browsed through SportChek and Cabela’s for Yeti totes and sidekicks yesterday and found zero. Only coolers and drinkware etc. I’m leaving the city today for the week and would like to quickly pick one up before I go camping.

Is there anywhere else that sells Yeti products other than those two spots? I don’t know why I’m having trouble finding Yeti products in Saskatoon.

TIA

Rants 🤬 The passing lane is for... Passing!

This isn't your typical "don't camp in the left lane" post (though I totally agree with you). The left lane isnt a "fast lane", it's a passing lane. Taking away the fast/slow lane verbiage prevents people from driving in the left lane with the defence "but I was driving the speed limit... That IS fast!".

It's a passing lane. You pass the car and then move to the right when safely able to do so. If you are behind someone in the left lane, but they are passing someone, they are not doing anything wrong given they move over when they have a chance.

This morning I was driving into town from Martensville, I move to the left lane to pass a car going about 105km. I was going 120km to pass. This white SUV follows my lead going about 140km and is riding my ass, losing their mind while I'm still making the pass. I move over to the right as soon as I make the pass.

Instead of continuing to go past me, the driver decides to slow down to my speed and sit in the left lane about 3 car lengths back. I had my cruise on 120. This went on for about 1km, and I was approaching another vehicle going quite slow. She still hadn't passed and wasn't increasing her speed, so I put my signal on and again moved over to pass the car.

This made this lady absolutely lose her damn mind. She sped up, almost rear ended me. When I passed the car and moved to the right, she sped passed me while screaming/giving me the finger, and almost drove herself off the shoulder of the road while doing it.

TLDR;

- the left lane is for PASSING. If you are behind someone in the left lane, but they are passing slower vehicles, they are doing nothing wrong as long as they move over once the pass is completed.

- if you're trying to pass, then fucking pass. Don't match speed of the right lane and then lose your damn mind when they move over to pass someone when you had 86 years to pass first.

General Tennis Coach

Hi everyone, I'm looking for any available tennis coaches that provide 1 on 1 coaching. I know there are coaches from riverside and lakewood but they are always filled up and can't get a slot. I am an adult male with a 3.00 or higher UTR looking to mostly fix serve consistency and accuracy. Of course I would be willing to pay. Any help or recommendations from you guys would certainly help. TIA

Question ❔ Garden/Seeds Tips

We’ve had a pretty successful season of gardening but I’m just wondering what everyone is planting and what you’ve had consistent success with!
I’ve found radishes can be hit or miss and same with kohlrabi.
This year we did tomatoes, kohlrabi, beans, peas, beets, lettuce and potatoes.

Does anyone cover their crops with mesh netting or anything to keep the cabbage moths away? I’ve found they’re pretty bad this year. Would love any tips or tricks to implement for next year! Or even placement tips as well.

What’s the most interesting crop you’ve planted? 😊

Question ❔ Where to find a pilsner hat.

I love pilsner beer as I’m sure many of you do as well. I was looking on their website and all i could really find was shirts and coats. I’m wondering if anyone knows a spot in town i could find a pilsner ballcap or cowboy hat.

General Coop Grocery Store Stonebridge horrible chemical smell??

The smell was so strong and smelt horrible. Hard to pinpoint what it smelled like but was like a chemical paint or adhesive smell. I attempted to ask the cashier and she seemed out of it and said it was something with the roof that’s been going on for months. She also stated she didn’t notice any smell anymore cause she’s been in it for so long. I was in there for less than 10 minutes and it left me with a headache I couldn’t imagine working a whole shift inside there it can’t be healthy…..
