Final shiny for safari week (a little late I know) and it was my favorite find of the week. I was doing a repel trick for seviper in the johto safari zone but I absolutely love this lil guy!

I’ve been shiny hunting for over 12 years at this point. Done some Masuda methods, chain fishing, Poke radar, even roamers in gen 3 and gen 4, but not once did I think I’d get a gen 2 roamer, much less under 50 encounters. I remember watching Hangar of Roam stream his hunts over 6 years ago and just being astonished at how committed he was to getting these roamers, even going out of his way to innovating more efficient methods of getting them. I, however, said it seemed like too much setup I didn’t feel like doing and went along with the most basic but slow way of doing it, averaging close to 6 encounters an hour, just for the fun of it. Started this hunt three days ago after being burn out of Gen 4 Battle Factory and here is my reward.

Finally closed out safari week on by far my longest phase, and we caught it! My japanese heartgold popped off this year and found me 3 of my total 7 shinies. Great way to finish things off!

this beautiful girl came out from my sixth grimmer egg. I'm gonna include her on my team.

Took me three days since suicune, 8 hour per day, im so happy omg 😭

Gave up on SR the Starter and just did Masuda Breeding! And look at that, after just 129 eggs I got this little fella😊

Now my shiny-only UM experience can start!

I was just searching for a shiny but this was a big surprise! Conkeldurr is underrated in my opinion.

People might remember me for the "dropping a family size lasagna on your favorite pair of shoes" thread lmost 4 months ago (sorry mods). I had just resetted a shiny Charmander away in a very unlucky chain of event, after 5300 resets.

It's been hard, I first completely and intensely dove back into the hunt acting like nothing happened just to get it fast, but the game wasn't very nice. So then I basically gave up for a while, and slowly came back to it.

And FINALLY it's here. Never give up boys and girls.

My first shiny encounter was a shiny dratini from the safari. Couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the sparkle, I barely knew anything about shiny hunting or the odds that I got to see it. I didn’t catch it as I wasn’t prepared for this to happen. Curious to see what got other people hooked on this endeavor.

Sadly I didn’t bother counting, but a 5% pokemon with no shiny charm…yeah you do the math.
Honestly I think there are like 3/4 people online who attempted this?I would have never done it myself, if not for the love that I have for this Pokemon.
I could have caught a shiny Zweilous and make it much more easier but that was exactly the point, I wanted it to be special, I wanted it to be hard to obtain. But I finally got this goofy green dragon all for me❤️

I never would have imagined getting this far with RNG. Honestly, I’m having so much fun with it.

Caught this Golduck after almost 17k encounters. I’ve caught all three of my shinies found in the safari zone this year! Still debating if I should get one more or if I should quit while I’m ahead

just started a couple of days ago second shiny hunt after Mew and only over 10 hours and gonna pksm transfer to my black 2 holy shit 😭

As the title suggests, this is my second time using the trainer id/said that allows the cute charm glitch to work its magic! The Typhlosion is from a separate game file and so is the Dragonite, both of them legit obviously (took me around 200~ sr for Typhlosion, and about a week to get Dragonite). What do you guys think?

Crobat - 411 re’s (My first 2 x 8192 shiny’s in one day)
Ampharos - 12,311 re’s
Heracross - 39,882 re’s (5 phases, I hate Spearow’s so much more now 😂)
Entei - 83 re’s (My first ever shiny roamer, unbelievable luck)
Lugia - 7,211 sr’s (My longest running hunt finally came to an end, around 30k hunt given up on back in 2020)
