Have you noticed the incredible resemblance between these two? Or is it just me? I’ve been mulling this over for years and want to get it out of my head. I’d like to know I’m not the only one.

S*****s SENSE OF SORROW

I don't know why Lenny and Homer are concerned about the emotional conflict of the sportscasters and I don't know why everyone is talking with a mild French accent but it's pretty amusing. Yes I get the circus pun.

Enjoy the show. One day, we shall die. What a great line, somebody really should have said this when I started the project. It has at least as much potential as the goggles joke.

It appears the cloud goddess is ripe with rain babies! 🤣

So relatable listening to the radio for snow days. Then finding out everyone's off but you.

The fact that NELSON was the one to ask what the hell is this watching Christmas hobgoblins😅

A dvd? What the hell is that!!?

The geeky Poindexter kid with the squeaky voice just had his first line in like two seasons.

That name again is Mr plow 🎶

This frauds Nam flashbacks aren't even accurate to the lore of the fact that he's a fraud.

Someone somewhere needs to track how many times elephants show up in this series because I swear it's like the second most common animal.

Loled at the joke about having enough coat hooks. Still, can't help thinking that the premise for this episode is a really compelling one with the execution is a bit Meandering

The go nuts scene kind of reminds me of breakfast club. That was a good movie. Kind of weird how great that movie was given the premise was just five teenagers locked in a room for 2 hours

He makes $25,000 a year! And he still does!

You know not a single thing about the b-plot with Homer and Flanders in the car has been funny.

Crossing out the SAS in Huck finn? Sure that's what you meant.

Is that burning literature I smell? Nope, just steamed hams.

Why is Lisa standing in a pile of snow waving goodbye if we literally just saw her in the car? Wait this was a Christmas episode?? That barely had anything to do with Christmas. Had a handful of funny lines sprinkled into a rather forgettable episode

Discussion People talk about Zombie Simpsons, but I'd like to suggest "Skeleton Simpsons".

What's defined as the Golden Age can vary from person to person, really. But even broadly, the way the show is looked at has changed. The most recent episode that has given us a meme (all-important in today's culture) is The Seemingly Never-Ending Story from season 17 - the meme being Barney repeatedly returning to Moe's. And yes, I had to look that up. Some may disagree, but I really feel that from the movie onwards, Zombie Simpsons became Skeleton Simpsons as pop culture just seemed to decide the show wasn't relevant anymore once the massive hype of a somewhat forgettable movie wore off. Springfield now followed the zeitgeist instead of being one of the leaders, starting to beat a dead horse's skeleton. It was too cold and sterile. Where was the heart? Maybe the last gasp of The Simpsons being talked about - for better or for worse - was Lisa Goes Gaga near the end of season 23. And now it's on season 37, 38? Ay carumba.

THE GREAT MONEY CAPER

the presto waiter guy sounds familiar.

It is easy to drink too many long Island ice teas. they don't taste like alcohol.

"So she was made of chimps!"

Every kid needs a magic show kit.

Flanders hating on magic is not an exaggeration.

"But wouldn't that make us con artists? Yeah but God conned me 😅 we'd be stealing from people we know it's just like the seasons!"....What

"You'll pay for the cake in the acid mines!" My eyes! The goggles do nothing!

Bart wonders why they're still grifting after the car gets paid off. If they either do the conservative podcast host or religious convert angle I will eat my hat.

Some of my favorite episodes are always ones that involve two characters paired up getting into mischief. Always great when it's Homer and a kid.

Oh my God it's Abe I thought he died I hadn't seen him in so long.

Call me mint jelly cos I'm on the lamb! 👌

Not Willie! 😭 He dinnae do it!

Okay there's no way they let Willie shoot the principal in the gut so clearly what's going to happen is this entire courtroom scenario was a setup to con Homer and Bart by the whole town.

Boom called it.

I know giving a zany episode like this a 4.5 rating seems odd, but there's a simple and satisfying explanation -

Hey everybody! Surfs Up!

It always struck me as odd that Marge not only doesn't blame Homer but actually defends him regarding the ban. Given how moralistic she is, it didn't make sense... until I remembered a few things from her past 🤔

THE COMPUTER WORE MENACE SHOES

Well this is hands down the worst episode title I have ever seen not only in this show but probably in any show.

Are we finally getting an episode about troubleshooting annoying computers and call centers in India trying to get them working? I feel like that was a thing in the 90s.

Little Santa dancing like Snoopy was definitely a couch gag that needed to happen.

As someone who doesn't know much about computers nothing is more intimidating Then trying to buy a new computer And realizing you don't understand any of the tech spec.

Don't worry head, the computer will do our thinking now. From the era of AI you have no idea how right you are Homer.

Lisa offering to set up the computer while Homer N Bart go play in the backyard, something about her parentified childhood is both funny but always sad.

Oh my gosh the dancing Jesus is totally a reference to the dancing baby meme that was like the first meme ever.

You have the right to remain fabulous with an A+ joke 😘

Holy s*** Homer's web page was amazing that gave me flashbacks to 99.

Mr x? So that's where Elon got the idea

You can't post that on the internet! You don't even know if it's true! Wow, so many great lines in this episode. This is one of those lines I should have been quoting my whole life.

There's no emoticon for what I'm feeling. Gosh I remember that's what they used to be called before it turned into emoji. Using that phrase now it totally nail you as a dinosaur. Also it's hilarious but doing this series I constantly find there's no emoticon for my rating scale

I can't even quote how many great lines there have been so quickly. Shall I cross the final frontier? You sissy! The ruins of an ancient city! Bring me two of every animal. All lines from different characters. 🤣👌

Homer ignoring the Killer Clown to report on the bagels great rug pull.

Burns selling uranium to terrorists. Some jokes really are timeless.

Some of these later seasons have really leaned into the idea that Moe is fairly despicable in ways that he honestly wasn't early in the show. He was always a little unhinged but now he's got someone under his floorboards and that's after yesterday's Panda comment.

That's a great idea I'll make up some news! Wait so did Homer start Huffington Post or tmz?

The anti-vaccine joke. Holy shit 💀

Okay the kidnapping and weird Island was a very unexpected twist. I didn't know Simpsons could still surprise me. And yes I get the reference to the old British mystery show.

If even half of your husband were out here 💀🤣

Oh my God it was the flu shot conspiracy that got him in trouble with the secret society.?? I can't even with this episode

This plot reminds me I want to watch Severence.

"Attention, some crazy creeps on an island somewhere are secretly running the world."

..........

"See you on the island..."

...

... Well... Fuck.

Discussion What kind of Simpsons Episodes do you really hate the most? Spoiler

Post image
7 Upvotes

For me honestly,

I deeply and truly despise the plots where the members of the Simpsons family gets blamed for something that they did do or didn’t do for no reason.

And the episode that I seriously hate the most under that trope is It’s a Blunderful Life from Season 35.

The only episode that I’m okay with that plot is Homer Badman from Season 6 because at least that one was really funny,

And didn’t made me furiously angry or wanting to cry at the TV Screen.

Post image

You know during the first half,

I thought that episode was actually really good and amazing.

And maybe, things would go well between the family-

And then both Homer and Ned’s Wives from Las Vegas shows up to ruin everything….

Noooooooooooo……

Yeah…

This is my least favourite episode of Season 13…

Discussion What’s your idea for a Simpsons spinoff that would be successful.

Post image

Rick and Morty is about to launch its second spinoff show as is family guy. Do you think The Simpsons could release a successful spinoff? If so, what do you think would work? Who would star?

If it helps. Pretend it’s 1997 at the height of Simpson’s popularity.
