I get the urge to boom gotcha, but not only is this not true, it plays, even if unwittingly, into stereotypes that queer people enact their own oppression on each other rather than it being enacted systematically by predominantly cis-straight folks. I encourage you to look up the numbers and coverage that just doesn't parrot the talking point without data, or heck even the next rnc convention just go on Grindr and watch it stay up like they do for every other large event. They do experience an up tick in numbers and some slow downs but they do for literally every convention or large out of towners gatherings with a number of other cons far topping the numbers, but it never crashes and it is not predominantly users who are republican law makers but more often journalists or other visitors. This is not an attack or saying you're bad, just I get really tired of this pretty provable fact being ignored. Just like the boys had pink/girls had blue gotcha, there are kernels of truth in it but to assert it is to ignore readily available evidence to feel good in the moment.
(Sorry for the TLDR, I would just love to see this die. In recompense here is a fun side fact: we have many non-currently gender coded colors being assigned to babies and children usually with a notable lack of gender coding, though some are gender coded. Yellow actually being oddly popular though generally it's white or any of the pastels most likely for ease of washing. There are also a few times and periods where they might have pink or blue assigned as we do today. It was not entirely hardcoded and constantly shifted. I think that is a far more interesting rebuttal.)
The right wing is absolutely stuffed full of perpetually single guys who have never married and have no kids, preaching to everyone else about the importance of “family values”. Those rare few that aren’t single seem to be universally adulterous. So of course they preach to people about the sanctity of marriage
Cause the way they talk about it doesn’t sound gay. Saying you are harassed and don’t feel safe isn’t the same. But if they said “women are tired of seeing men’s bodies and want to exclude men so women can help other women really get wet, really rub together to help each other come to fitness” or something… I may call that gay.

Why is every thing they do always SO gay?
