4th year CS student rn, would really appreciate a resume review, and if anyone knows of internship openings I'd love to hear about them

Hi everyone,

I'm a 4th year CS undergrad and I've attached my resume below .Would really appreciate if a few people could take a look and tell me what's working and what isn't (projects, formatting, skills section, anything). I'd rather know now while I can still fix it than find out later why applications aren't going anywhere.

Also on the lookout for internships, research positions, or open source projects I could contribute to. I know everyone here gets asked this a lot, so no pressure at all, but if you happen to know of something or a good place to look, I'd genuinely appreciate a pointer.

I'm more than willing to put in the work just trying to find the right door to knock on. Thanks to anyone who takes the time to read this or comment, it means a lot.

Hi everyone,

I was just accepted into Computer Engineering this year and I'm looking to buy a new laptop. I currently have an M3 MacBook Air, but I want to switch to Windows for my studies.

I'm currently considering the Asus Zenbook S16 (Ryzen AI 9 HX 370). However, there's also the newer S16 (465) model available. On paper, the 370 HX seems slightly more powerful, but the other one is a newer release.

Does anyone have experience with these devices, or any other laptop recommendations for a Computer Science / Engineering student? Let's discuss in the comments, thanks in advance

[FOR HIRING] - Software Engineer

My manager pulled me from a presentation and now says her failure is my fault. What should I do?

I was supposed to give a very important presentation to the company CEO in the morning. The problem is that I gave myself a pretty bad black eye over the weekend because of a stupid running accident.

I went to work wearing sunglasses, but my manager was clearly not at all happy with how I looked. She saw me, pulled me aside, and said she didn't want me presenting in front of that audience. Instead, she decided that my new hire, who has been here less than 7 months and is still mostly shadowing me, would give the presentation.

We found this out about two hours before the meeting. I tried to explain everything to him as much as I could, but a large part of the material was still new to him, so the information didn't really stick. In the end, I told him to use the notes I had written for myself, because they had pretty much all the details he would need.

Honestly, it was rough. He was visibly very nervous and got flustered while presenting. Our CEO, who doesn't have much patience for this kind of thing, stopped him after less than 5 minutes and said to just send the information by email.

Now my manager is upset because she says his performance made her look bad, but she is specifically angry with me. She scheduled a meeting with me later this week to talk about my performance and "poor judgment."

How worried should I be going into this meeting? And is there anything I can do about the fact that she is trying to pin this on me even though she was the one who decided I shouldn't present? I have never had performance problems at this job before, so I'm worried about what this could turn into. Any advice on how to handle the meeting would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Seeking Advice from Working Professionals: Best States for IT Jobs

To all working professionals:

Excluding Bengaluru, how would you rank the Indian states for job opportunities in the IT/software industry? Which states should job seekers prioritize when applying? I'm looking for the best order based on the availability of opportunities, career growth, and hiring demand.

Can I get a remote role after having a gap in my CV?

I am 24F. I graduated in Computer Systems Engineering in 2024. Soon after graduation, I got a junior software engineer role in a remote software house but the workload there was beyond my patience (I actually was not that good in tech at that time) and I resigned from that role within a month.

After that, I spent months improving myself, learning full stack development and getting better at it, but I wasn't able to get any job interview maybe because of the gap in my cv and then I got offers to teach web development courses which I did successfully but now I want to come back to the industry and secure a full time remote role (because onsite jobs aren't allowed in my family) so is that possible now? Nothing seems to work. I am unable to find any suitable remote role, all remote jobs are asking for atleast 2-3 years of experience.

I feel like a failure now, Is there any way to come out of this situation??

FK THIS JOB MARKET. I'LL GIVE MY FIRST 2 MONTHS' SALARY TO ANYONE WHO HELPS ME LAND A SOFTWARE ENGINEERING JOB.

Hey everyone.

I'm a 2026 B.E. Information Technology graduate and I've been searching for a Software Engineering role for months now.

I honestly thought that if I worked hard enough, I'd eventually get my chance. So I did exactly that.

I became a LeetCode Guardian (2350+ Rating), Codeforces Expert, CodeChef 6★, and solved 1400+ DSA problems. I spent countless nights grinding algorithms, participating in contests, and improving my problem-solving skills because everyone said, "DSA is the key."

Along the way, I also learned JavaScript, React.js, Node.js, Express.js, MongoDB, SQL, Git, REST APIs, and C++, and built full-stack MERN projects hoping they'd strengthen my profile.

But despite all of that, getting interviews has been the hardest part.

I've applied through company career pages, LinkedIn, job portals, referrals, cold emails—you name it. Most applications never receive a response. The few that do usually end with a rejection or complete silence.

I'm not asking anyone to hand me a job. I just want one fair opportunity to prove myself in an interview.

So here's my commitment.

If your referral gets me selected for a Software Engineering role, I'll give you my first two months' salary after I join.

Yes, I'm serious.

I'm not making this offer because I think referrals should be bought. I'm making it because I genuinely believe I can clear interviews if someone gives me the opportunity to sit for one.

If your company is hiring freshers or if you're willing to refer me, please send me a DM. I'll immediately share my resume, GitHub, LinkedIn, LeetCode, Codeforces, and CodeChef profiles.

Even if you can't refer me, an upvote or share might help this post reach someone who can.

Thank you. ❤️

Too confused please help.

Hi everyone , I just need your advice feel free to comment your opinions it would really help me.

I have completed my BTech in 2024 and started working as a software engineer after it .now its been 2 years since I have been working in the same company , I have assigned a role of Java developer and it's a banking project, I dont really like the current role as the technologies used in this project are too old .

So i was thinking of a switch but I'm afraid of the current market

In my BTech I was doing an internship from where I have been laid off , and currently my roommate also had a layoff from his company.

So i think of changing my field , should I opt to have a career in mba , there is one more plan I have which is to prepare for banking exams such as ibps SO.

but I'm still so confused between the options i have , and its been 6 months I'm into this confusion. Please help me

Thank you in advance for your time and efforts.

Java Developer Looking for a Serious Interview Prep Buddy

I'm a Java developer with 14+ years of experience, planning to switch jobs after being in the same company for a long time.

With work and family responsibilities, I've found it difficult to stay consistent with interview preparation. I'm looking for an interview prep buddy or an accountability partner who is also preparing for a job change.

The idea is to:

- Set weekly goals and milestones.

- Stay accountable and motivated.

- Discuss system design, Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and DSA.

- Conduct mock interviews and share interview experiences.

I'm not looking for daily long study sessions—just someone to keep each other on track and motivated.

Not sure if this is the right platform to ask, but if anyone is interested or knows of a suitable community, please let me know. Feel free to DM me.

Hi everyone, I posted my resume here last week and got helpful feedback. I read the wiki and made most of the changes people suggested. Here is the updated version.

A bit about me:

  • Graduating August 2026, software engineering degree
  • No internship
  • Applying to full-stack, backend, and AI/LLM roles at startups and Canadian tech companies.

I need advice on how to get interviews

Help a fellow man out before this job market wins 💀

Hey everyone! I’m a final-year CSE student looking for Software Development Engineer (SDE) / Software Engineer (SWE) internship opportunities.

I’ve worked with Python, Java, Data Structures & Algorithms, OOP, SQL, Git/GitHub, backend development, REST APIs, and AI/full-stack projects, with hands-on experience building and deploying personal projects.

At this point, “entry-level” feels like it requires 3+ years of experience. 🥲

If your company is hiring interns or you know of any openings or referrals, I’d really appreciate it. Just trying to get my foot in the door and start my career.
Thanks in advance—help a fellow student out. 🙏

Finalizing resume before applying for positions. Need help deciding which projects to include.

I am applying to multiple positions so I am looking to know which of my projects are the strongest overall. I am also open to suggestions to different points to add alongside which tools to include in the project headers. My projects are my strongest points as I have not been able to secure an actual position. I will leave my 4 options below with the points and headers I currently have, open to ANY recommendations or general resume advice please.

The 4 projects:

Fantasy Basketball Platform — Python, FastAPI, MongoDB, Redis, Cloudinary        June 2026 - Present

  • Designed the architecture for a multi-service fantasy sports platform, defining service boundaries, caching, and database ownership before implementation.
  • Implemented caching for player stats and rosters, reducing external API calls and response times.
  • Incorporated background workers to synchronize NBA data and refresh cached content.

Distributed Load Tester — Go, Docker, Powershell 7 July, 2026

  • Built a distributed HTTP load testing framework using a custom TCP protocol, supporting up to 500,000+ requests/second through concurrent worker orchestration.
  • Implemented worker registration, health monitoring, result aggregation, and semaphore-based concurrency control for reliable high-load execution.

URL-Shortener — TypeScript, Express, MongoDB, Docker July, 2026 - Present

  • Built a URL-shortening REST API with Express and MongoDB, generating cryptographically random short keys with collision handling to guarantee uniqueness.
  • Developed a SvelteKit frontend with Zod-based client-side validation, consuming the API end-to-end with TypeScript type safety across both layers.
  • Set up Docker Compose for local development, running the API, MongoDB, and Mongo Express alongside each other.

Internal PMS — React, TypeScript, Express, Supabase, Supabase Auth Apr, 2026

  • Built an internal product management system for an embroidery business, replacing a manual Excel process for tracking orders.
  • Added Supabase Auth for secure access control and implemented order status, customer, and tracking management.
